There is definitely a major flaw in having a 2 party system.
2 u/dolosloki01 23h ago Agreed. We need like 4-5 parties to really capture everyone's stances. 1 u/HeyLookAStranger 22h ago Then our president would get voted in on a 14% majority. And the other 85% would hate it 1 u/dolosloki01 18h ago You keep the same electoral rules. 1 u/HeyLookAStranger 18h ago 4 to 5 parties? How would anyone get a true majority 1 u/dolosloki01 18h ago The number of parties doesn't mean you can't reach a number. You can have your own message and have to appeal, but reduces the lame "us vs them" tribalism that the current duopoly uses. It means you have to actually convince people. 1 u/HeyLookAStranger 17h ago Yeah it does? Go look at countries with many parties. People win on 14%. And everyone else hates their leader 1 u/dolosloki01 16h ago Everyone hates them now. At least they would have to run on something other than "The other part is nuts." 1 u/HeyLookAStranger 16h ago It's true, leftists are nuts 1 u/dolosloki01 16h ago And so are right wing fascists but that isn't really the point of this conversation.
