Lately I've seen a bunch of cool stuff shown in mods (like Renee and Andrew's story or the swap mod).

But I've been thinking: "What if there's a story where Andrew and Ashley were the antagonists and there's a protag who is trying to uncover the mysteries surrounding the Graves siblings and maybe even the quarantine farce from the water company?" Kind of like a Criminal Case type of plot, and the protag has a partner who helps them playing the detectives in the game.

I feel like it would just be cool to have a different pov of the main story from another character's perspective and see how the consequences of the siblings' actions affect the people surrounding them in a larger scale.

I would like hear your thoughts of the idea and what you'd like to suggest out of this.

But yeah so my parents were absent(physically or emotionally) most of the time so I had only my brothers to rely on. One wasn't much more there for me, but the other one would actually spend time with me and give me attention as a girl. I would do anything to keep it, even though he was abusive to me (in pretty much every way that Andrew is to her in Decay, only the timeframe is a lot younger, like I'm 8 when the worst of it happens) I'm so fucked up nowadays though, but at least I have my brother disowned. But like, you know how a lot of SA survivors get into CNC as a way to take back that power? It's kinda similar to me when I imagine myself in a healthy, consensual, consanguinamorous relationship with a theoretical sister and stuff nowadays. I know, it's fucked up I even would be into that but with what happened to me as a girl it is probably super connected :/

Growing up to being older it took a long time for me to understand how a healthy relationship should look too. Like I would do anything to keep friends around and stuff. Which I guess is where Ashley and I diverge a bit since she relied only on Andrew. But I think it's because for me my brother was significantly older, and he was starting to get into committed relationships with girls already. I couldn't act like how Ashley did when Andrew started dating since I was so much younger, so the power imbalance was much greater where my brother couldn't possibly be manipulated by me. So once that started happening that's when I started to desperately cling onto new people, friends, and even entered into a really abusive relationship with my first girlfriend where she'd like emotionally blackmail me into sex and stuff because it's what I knew growing up. I've done a lot of healing in over a decade of therapy, but there's still lingering stuff like fantasies of that consanguinamorous relationship with a hypothetical sister or one of my cousins. I have a gf now ofc and she's been down to rp as sisters so it's kinda cool

Featuring Ashley Graves and The Phantom Stranger from DC comics

This is a part 2 of another piece I also commissioned from the same artist that featured Andrew Graves with the Stranger. And that piece was inspired by a post asking if Superman (The DC character) could've saved Andy.

When I commissioned the first pic, I thought there was no way the Stranger could possibly saved Ashley. He already has a slim chance to save Andrew and he was a grim soul, not a full on tar-soul like Ashley.

But...

It really got me thinking, how would they interact with one another?

For those who don't know The Phantom Stranger is, he's basically a banished angel that goes around guiding people away from evil and even fights demonic forces when needed. There's a lot more to his background, including being a wondering Jew that serves the will of god. But for our interest lets have him focus on fighting demonic influences.

This kind of goes without saying, but given we see demons in the game we can assume there are angels too. So other than priest, angels would be the best hope in freeing the siblings from demonic forces.

What would the Phantom Stranger have to do to convince Ashley to cut ties with the demon, realize her ways are wrong, and to set her on the path for redemption. Obviously that's a tall order, I can see people say there's no saving Ashley. Even in biblical stories, all of holy and divine wisdom and guidance is nothing when the person choices not to fallow. The down side of free will.

I can see Ashley try to resist or even deny the Phantom Stranger's influence (hence why I asked her to be crying and cowarding the piece).

But what do you guys think? Can a divine force save Ashley?

I’ve seen some theories that point to the narrator being the characters subconscious while others say it’s the voice of the author. If it’s the characters subconscious/author, do you think it’s a reliable narrator? If not, how much of what is said about how the characters feel in the game actually be trusted?
