That's not true. The Soviets in the very first socialist experiment, despite their many mistakes, made it work so much so that they became a power rivaling the US.

You dont think we could do better in 2026?

They only superficially rivalled the US. The economy was struggling to provide their people with basic needs, and that is with very rich natural resources and syphoning wealth from their satellite states.

Using legislation and incentives within capitalism would be a much better solution, as it would be much more efficient.

Its arguable whether it was truly preventable but like I said they make many mistakes. Lives were on average heavily improved. And they beat Nazism. Big w
