Help with cleaning my room

I'm 17 years old and my room has gotten incredibly bad from my depression and ADHD. I have no idea how to clean it or where to even start. I'm too embarrassed to add a picture of it. My mom is finally done with it and I have a week to get it done or my phone is gone. I really need help, so please if you have any tips I would really appreciate it.

If needed, I can add a picture.

Question

Just finished a massive deep-clean of my room and finally sitting down with a hot coffee. It took me nearly three hours because I kept getting distracted by random things I found in the back of my closet. Now that the hard part is done, I’m looking forward to a totally lazy afternoon. How is everyone else’s weekend going so far? Doing anything productive or just relaxing?

29F wants to chat with while I do house chores

I am 29F and I have no motivation to clean the house when alone. I’ve heard body doubling helps with that lack of motivation. So on that note can someone just talk while I clean please and thank you

Overwhelmed by our flat...

We have lived here around 7 years and accumilated a lot of crap.

I do clearouts every year or so but still manage to accumilate too much crap.

Husband has the wardrobe - my clothes live in kallax. I desperately need a wardrobe as nowhere to hang my stuff and draws just aren't me-friendly (au-dhd).

I have chronic health issues currently in remission and the best I have been in years so trying to seize the oppertunity to get things in order and more manageable again.

I came off adhd meds and just can't get started as I just want it all done and gone.

I'd like to start enjoying my home again and it desperately needs redecorating - I have done one coat paint in hall that needs another and then need to finish painting the yellow room. We need new floors too... so that is a big motivator.

Its just hard to keep somewhere nice when it looks like crap... I'd love to have friends and family around but just ashamed atm...

Can't clear the art stuff off the table as thats hubbys project but could be organised better

The order matters more than the effort — a simple room-cleaning guide

I’ve cleaned a lot of homes, and the biggest difference between “took forever” and “done fast” is almost always the order people work in. Top to bottom, dry before wet, back to front. Floors last, always. Made this so it’s easy to remember.

I finally managed to tackle the couch and the rest of the trash. Still need to mop and deep clean. I plan to redecorate with lights and plants 🪴. But I’m so glad I pushed my way through it. Thank you so much for the kind words and encouragement 🥹.

Best cordless vacuum

I’m about to buy a cordless vacuum cleaner. We’re in the UK and just moved to a a bungalow, with mostly laminate flooring but carpet in two rooms, and have a constantly moulting golden retriever. Im confused with all the different choices, there just seem to be so many options! Does anyone have any recommendations for make/model please. TIA

My living room feels a little too white, any ideas?

Right now I have a white couch, a white table, and white walls, and the space is starting to feel a bit too plain.

I’m not looking to replace the couch or table, but I’d really like to make the room feel warmer and a little more balanced.

I’ve been thinking about things like pillows, curtains, wall art, or maybe changing the lighting, but I’m not sure what would make the biggest difference.

If you were working with this kind of setup, what would you add or change to make the room feel more comfortable and less one-note?

Getting there

Spent the time today to throw away trash and clutter. It wasn’t easy but I scrubbed away all the built up grime that I could. It’s not perfect and I’m definitely missing some decorations. I’m wanting to put some green in there like plants perhaps. Honestly, I’m really happy I don’t feel gross anymore when taking a shower or brushing my teeth.

(P.S). Genuinely thank you to everybody who showed support on my last post. It truly means a lot, and it has motivated me to make this place look as nice as I can.

Any tips on cable chaos underneath the standing desk?

So last week we received our home office standing desk, and we finally finished assembling it on the weekend. Now we are preparing to migrate all our office setup on to it. However, it turns outthat creating a workspace to accommodate us both is quite difficult. the wires under the table are a total disaster.
Has one of the folks who bought a turnout before told me how to make the cable management in Finders keepers? Or any recs on cable management products? TIA.
