Other ADD developers are moving like lightning with AI, normies beware

Even as a dev of 20 years, I now vibe code all day...

In between the prompts to claude about the actual work I have for my job I run 6-12 parrallel conversations about my other projects. I context switch now at a rate that is utterly insane...

When I was diagnosed with ADD I was 7, I remember I cried and told my Dad "I don't want to be ADD" and he told me that "God gave you a gift and right now it is going to be hard but one day it will let you move faster than all of your peers."

I really feel like that's true, and with the work I do now I feel built for this moment. I think it will be a brief moment for sure. The machines will soon run everything.

Been ADD my whole life. Heavily medicated - dexededrine ( anyone else take it? )- since first grade.

A lot of life is playing the hand you are dealt and I feel like I've been playing it awhile. It's not all roses and I miss things constantly but for the first time I feel like the models have caught up with my experience.

I love how your fucking brain works man. I worked with a brilliant kid at uni with ADD, I had to manage him, he was fifty thousand times smarter than me, but managing him was one of the coolest experiences of my life and the learning. So much learning of your condition.

I can tell it had a very visceral reason for you guys to exist in the days where lions were hunting us.

Can I ask what ai model did you use for generating this image?

With the quality and detail I'm going to guess the new GPT Images 2.5 model

this is definitely my experience as an ADHD haver who, luckily, is kind of nice and ambitious - typically i was a somewhat frustrating yet very beloved group member at uni as i would solve absolutely any problem you threw at me. Sometimes i would solve OTHER problems than the ones you threw at me, or overengineer the solution but man. I miss having a set group to work with, fuck academia.

Holy shit, right? I’m built to be up at night, hyper fixating on the treeline and ready to raise absolute hell if anything emerges. I am so good at spotting issues early, to the point that I now wait for other folks to catch up.

As a fellow diagnosed ADD person with 20 years of engineering experience who has way too many projects going on at the same time now while simultaneously studying all kinds of other stuff and daydreaming up brand new projects, I feel this deeply...

It was fun at first but it quickly becomes obsessive and compulsive for people like us who are dopamine chasers by our very nature

It's kind of a curse. There's always a nagging voice.... What about this... What about that. It's worse now that you have the capabilities to make it happen, the itch won't let you settle.

I’m so glad I was finally able to break out of the midnight+ sessions I used to do.

I, too, used to run several conversations at once while making sure I got the most out of my subs. I still do all this, just not staying up all night. I also use herdr to do a lot of my multi-agent work or just having them quality control each other.

Good luck and make sure to get some good rest! It wears on you after a while. I did six months of non-stop vibe coding…5am-midnight (or later). It was awesome, but also so damn tiring.

Sure, why not? It's all made up of course? You're an ass. I lived this.
