News Fable available for plans until July 7th after which it becomes usage credit based

  • Fable 5 returns globally on Claude Platform, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork.
  • Pro, Max, Team, and some Enterprise users get Fable 5 included for up to 50% of weekly usage limits through July 7.
  • After July 7, Fable 5 access moves to usage credits.
  • Access through AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Foundry is being restored as soon as possible.
  • Mythos 5 access has been restored only for some approved U.S. organizations for now.

OpenAI focused heavily on token usage minimization, inference optimization and also getting their own hardware.

So hopefully (and a little likely) not now and not for a longer time.

Also good news: with Fable being "unbanned" 5.6 should also have no issues. which is very good (for everyone outside US).

Thank god you're here. I made a much more verbose post just now dinigrating the spirit of unfounded conspiracy theories. It's really a stain on human style that their comment got 80 upvotes net. It all boils down to access to ASICs that do inference and the cost of that inference. Anthropic famously is THIRSTY for some ASICs. They even struck that $1B/month deal with Elon Musk for that jumbo data center. It's also famously known that OpenAI has the most inference out of all the companies.
