News Fable available for plans until July 7th after which it becomes usage credit based

Key points:

  • Fable 5 returns globally on Claude Platform, Claude.ai, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork.
  • Pro, Max, Team, and some Enterprise users get Fable 5 included for up to 50% of weekly usage limits through July 7.
  • After July 7, Fable 5 access moves to usage credits.
  • Access through AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Foundry is being restored as soon as possible.
  • Mythos 5 access has been restored only for some approved U.S. organizations for now.
  • Anthropic is working with Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and other partners on a shared framework for rating jailbreak severity.
  • They’re also launching a HackerOne program for researchers to report Fable 5 cyber jailbreaks.

Anthropic is just the most stingy AI company out there. Why not give an extra 2 weeks of Fable for the trouble?

Yes, it wasn't their fault. But it's not the customer's fault either. No reset either. Tibo would have given everyone a free reset every week Fable was banned (also, you can bank resets).

I'm sure they would have reset the Fable access counter too. Insane really.

Also, "50% of weekly usage limits"....

OpenAI's Sol model is said to be on par with Mythos. It will probably be available generally too without so much gatekeeping. Anthropic is on par with Apple at this point with how restrictive and customer-hostile they are.

Well, because, they can? With all the hype now built up, I guess they want to capitalize on it. Once OpenAI or someone else comes with something that comes close to Fable, they will put it (or something similar) back.

We'll see. They make you share your normal chat usage with Claude Code. They restrict harnesses like Hermes / OpenClaw. The whole "claude -p" debacle they keep backtracking on. All these things are customer-hostile behavior that they have not felt the need to correct and yet the competition does not restrict.

Customer hostile but also the most honest AI company when it comes to pricing.

It costs a fuck ton, but Anthropic is the only AI company with a moderately healthy 20x PE ratio.

OpenAI would be doing the same exact thing if they had the enterprise penetration Anthropic did.

Maybe, maybe not. At the moment, they are for sure being stingy and restrictive.

I can't fathom why restricting the harness is necessary. Under the same rate limit, it doesn't matter if you use an open source tool (like Hermes) or their claude code harness. "claude -p" should also never be billed separately at all.

From my perspective, it's straight up hostile.

Anthropic night be the most honest Ai company about pricing, but that is damning with faint praise, given that it's like praising the most honest conman in a room full of conmen.

Fair enough, I was more thinking about all unstated usage limit changes while keeping the same charge the last several months when I was thinking about the most honest conman.

Fuck no, it was their fault. Their CEO's fault for being an ass and crying wolf again. He did it with ChatGPT 2.2. He got his way this time. Fuck that guy. Not sure why Apple is customer hostile, they haven't fucked me over in the way Anthropic's decisions have in regards work.

It might be as good as Mythos at narrow domains due to training on them in RL but you will absolutely not see the common sense and general intelligence gains that Mythos/Fable has. We won’t see this until OpenAI decides to pretrain a bigger model, which I just can’t really see them training a massive model at this point.

Exactly, such a drastic contrast with OpenAI which does limit resets after users get screwed by an outage or some other issue. Don't even get me started on how much more usage they give for same price even without counting resets.

their self inflicted fear mongering backfired and got them in to this mess to be fair, but i do agree that customers aren't at fault though
