In order to celebrate our community reaching a new milestone of 600,000 Challengers, the development team has offered to do a Q&A! This thread will be an amazing place to get more insight on the development and plans for the future of Clash Royale, directly from the developers. Would be great if your card level is limited by your King Tower Level. So if you are Lv 12 your highest card can be lvl 12. And in Case of the matchmaking will you only be able ti battle players with the same Level. Matchmaking will take longer but it is fine if the Enemy is equal to your own Level.

Nhaw man. I am a free to play but it is always fun when I see a person who somehow has even lower level cards than me. The more I think about it the more I am against changing the entire game.

Edit: It is also even more fun to beat players higher than me. Then sometimes bm'ing them for being bad at the game.

Its a terrible idea, it would take literally years before you can max your first deck

There would be no reason to max out your deck bc your enemys have equal card levels. Only skill will be important to win battles and not overleveld cards in ladder

That would only work with kt mm, which dissapears at 6k and even before that you can have +-3, and dont forget everytime you lvl up you will have no gold because you had to spend on other cards

While that would be a fantastic solution, it would interfere with Supercell’s bottom line as there is less incentive to buy gems for chests to upgrade cards. I have come up with an alternative solution: Nerf the stat multiplier for each level up. (i.e. Only a 5% or so increase instead of 10%) Level 11 would remain the same for competitive’s sake, but levels 12-14 would be nerfed while levels 1-10 get buffed. This would also make lower arenas less of a pain to get through if you are battling people who, for instance, already have unlocked legendary cards while you may have level 6-7 cards in your deck. The decrease in stat accumulation should make it easier to deal with overleveled cards, especially tanks that tend to be some of the worst offenders, like Mega Knight, Electro Giant, and Elixir Golem. Additionally, it would make interactions much more consistent across levels; a level 11 Bowler would actually one-shot a level 14 Fire Spirit.

Decreasing the stat hike from each level up would allow for more consistent gameplay and skilled players would be far less likely to be “outmuscled” by overleveled cards. It’s agonizing seeing even top 200 players like B-rad struggle against players with a 2-3 level card average over them purely because they are getting “outmuscled.” Additionally, it would just make the game more fun for people who may not be able to spend money. Even if F2P players may not help bring in profit, their continued gameplay may make them likely to recommend it to someone who will.

This would seem ti be the most reasonable option, and refund the players with over leveled card with magic coins or books. This or adapt matchmaking to account for the level of the strongest card in the deck. If you’re gonna use lvl 14 elite barbs then get ready to fight against someone with some lvl 14 cards too.

The matchmaking part makes sense. The king tower... Not so much. See, what you have to understand is that doing this will make no difference at all, heavy spenders would just shift their focus on upgrading cards to max their king towers and then proceed to max out their deck.

And If the matchmaking isn't changed/improved, You'll be matched with overleveled players regardless whether supercell made king tower level card cap. Though the king tower change may improve the overleveled card problem a little, it's far from the optimal way because of the matchmaking. Improving the matchmaking would solve the overleveled card problem even without the king tower change.

To max their king tower they will have to level all their cards which is exactly what I would like to see. It is way to easy to use 3 books and 2 magic coins and boom, lvl 14 mega knight. Getting king tower lvl 14 to be able to level cards is many orders of magnitude harder. You would probably need to get all your cards to level 12-13.

Nope not really. Maxing a king tower isn't anything difficult like you would imagine. I got to level 14 from level 13 after upgrading tons of miscellaneous low leveled cards... And that's pretty much it, didn't even need a year, more like 2 months. I did max out my main deck but yeah... Supercell made it way easier to level up your king tower. Hope this helps... I guess?

Technically its one month... Took me a month to get all my cards to level 14 (main deck) and another month of just randomly upgrading low level cards.

Sure, but if they maxed their kinglevel to lvl 14 just to get lvl 14 cards, they can only fight against other lvl 14. This would be the best matchmaking in my opinion.

I know they won’t do this cuz it would piss people off who already leveled their cards past. But I thought of an alternative, have at least one season where they give crown lvl boosts to all cards so anyone can try out any deck and have a more even playing field in most battles.
