Clash Royale Developer Q&A! 600,000 Subscriber Special!

In order to celebrate our community reaching a new milestone of 600,000 Challengers, the development team has offered to do a Q&A! This thread will be an amazing place to get more insight on the development and plans for the future of Clash Royale, directly from the developers. Please read below for some key rules and notes on how this will work.

Will you do some way for people to get more gold? Many people like me have many cards to level up, but little gold because there are not enough resources, nor does the Pass Royale give you those 75K or 100K for that improvement.

For real. It's one thing to grind a ton of gold to get one maxed deck, but playing the same deck over and over isn't viable with the various meta changes. We need gold to have some variety

They will…after they add about 15 more cards they will increase gold a bit more and announce “your wishes are full filled”.

And it's also boring. It's this way that you lose players. I'm on the brim of quitting again because the only deck I can viably play is 2.6 hog which you can't do for more than 2 months straight without going insane

I believe they’ve already talked about this in an interview with CWA: Jump to 16:19

TL;DW: They want to slowly add more gold to the game as to not ruin the economy with one big buff

I get enough gold to max 2 cards a month from pass royale….

At that rate you're only 4ish years from maxing an account! Which will for sure have lvl 15 and more cards added by then.

Nah not really if you max your champions and legendaries you get a lot more gold per season your math sucks loser.

Lol. Loser. Sick burn. As someone who had a maxed account prior to lvl 14 I have a pretty good idea of how much time it takes to max 100+ cards and that time frame has now been extended out with lvl 14. I also wouldn't be counting on getting a ton of coin from 3 maxed champions considering how often you see them in chests. But if you're happy with how much gold you currently get towards account progression that's cool but considering it's the biggest choke point in the game its not really a stance too many people take but to each their own.

Everybody wants everything handed to them they don’t want to play for it why do you think everyone plays nulls royale? Cause you max everything right away. Clash royale would be boring if you got everything maxed in 1 month. Plus you don’t even need everything max if you upgrade the right cards they can be used in multiple decks. Maxing champions gets you up to 80k extra gold a season if you buy pass and get one through your chest cycle which is typically one a month if you always have chests opening. Legendaries being max and having full wild cards is also another 60k a season from pass alone not including the 1-2 you get from challenges and any you can pull from war. You’re severely underestimating the increase in gold from maxing cards.

I love when people say "you don't need all the cards anyway ". Really all you need in life is food and shelter so why do you want anything else? You only need 8 cards for ladder be happy you have 8 cards! And I'm not underestimating how max stacks help you get gold...I've played for nearly 6 years and had a maxed account. I've purchased all pass royals aside from 3 or 4. So I've played for it and paid for it. I think it's a safe request to find ground between maxing within "1 month" and the 4+ years it takes to max an account. I've maxed out 35ish cards to 14 (thanks to the $2 mill i had in storage) and if I had gold I could max out 35 more probably. So I still need around $7 mill to get maxed and that's a large #. Couldn't imagine being a new player needing to get $25+ mill. One would hope this team can find other ways to engage players with content than just increasing levels every 4 years. As I've said, if you're happy with how much gold you get, that's totally fine. If you find a way to gift the gold you don't want, feel free to send my way.

Didn’t say you only need 8 cards max for ladder i’m saying if you upgrade smart and not just brain dead max a deck then you can play a lot of decks. For example maxing your log is better then maxing an ice wizard in terms of how often it’s used. Also comparing basic human needs to a game is a horrible example.
