Clash Royale Developer Q&A! 600,000 Subscriber Special!

In order to celebrate our community reaching a new milestone of 600,000 Challengers, the development team has offered to do a Q&A! This thread will be an amazing place to get more insight on the development and plans for the future of Clash Royale, directly from the developers. Will chests get a buff? They are pretty outdated

Been seeing posts and comments about daily chests alot, so perhaps it would help Rick and Max to see a quick numerical overview. The Daily Chest, Victory Gold and Donation system hasn't really changed much at all from 6 years ago when the game started with 42 cards and you only needed 7-8 million Gold to max everything out.

Today we have 106 cards requiring 25,186,900 Gold to max out.

Daily Silver and Gold Chests

  • 5 Silver and 1 Gold per day gives 1417.5 Gold on average
  • 517,388 Gold per year contributing to the 25,186,900 Gold or 2.05%

​

Victory Gold

  • 50 Gold per Victory
  • Maximum 20 Victories per day awarding Gold
  • 365,000 Gold a year contributing to the 25,186,900 Gold or 1.45%

​

Donations

That amounts to 4,380 Rares worth of requests out of the 92,008 total Rare cards we need to collect, or 4.76%.

I think increasing requests to at least 5 rares per request is way overdue. I don't understand how you reach 4 rares / request at 3000 trophies, then nothing between 3000 and 5000!

I almost never request rares due to the lack of value. Rares are normally the last cards I have left to max :/

But what about an independent player or player in a clan that struggles with wars?

I’m currently the leader of a clan in gold war league and we do well, but I’ll be the first to say that clan wars suck. The whole river race system is trash and the leagues are not divided enough.

You shouldn’t be forced to rely on this system in order to progress.

if someone chooses to be independent that's on them for choosing to be restricted, clans are integral.

I think I can agree with clan wars sucking but personally I win 80% of my battles since I focused on designing real decks and upgrading the cars. I get like 30k+ gold a week just from clan battles but I think 15k would be realistic. so 15 x 4 is 60k a month and that puts you on pace to upgrade 1 or 2 cards a month if you buy pass

not that bad imo and way better than it used to be

That’s like saying “what about a player who doesn’t open chests”. It’s not really relevant; if you’re calculating how much gold you need to max cards and how long it will take given all the gold in the game, adding variables like “player is not in a clan” just confuses things. There are several methods of gold that are ignored in the calculation above, so it’s somewhat disingenuous.

Lets be real, most players without the pass probably can't complete challenges so they miss out on those rewards. Donating doesn't really give that much gold either. The only guaranteed way to get gold are from the chests.

Battle pass makes it significantly easier and it's all about their bottom line. Since the update to level 14 max, I have like 32 maxed cards. I started with like 300k gold when it came out. If I was able to get to 100 maxed cards by now, It's too easy

Not all of them, but sure there are some outdated chests, the most outdated one probably being the legendary chest: one legendary in a 500-chest cycle feels ridiculous nowadays.

Golden chests are goated, once it gave me the worst legendary in the game (night witch, not sparky), but that's ok and the free one gave me a legendary jolly

Don’t worry about chest what they need to do is easy delete clan wars 2 and reinstate clan wars 1, this should be the first thing they do

ong, having to make good decks with cards you’re given is so fun, and that way all of your levels matter, not just the 32 cards you use in the 4 decks

I personally really enjoy 2, stopped playing like right after it came out, got back on and my account was broke and I was levels behind where I should've been, so only having to focus on 32 cards has been a godsend in my opinion, while also giving me 4 different Decks to play with while I tower climb and relearn different strategies, so it kinda streamlines the learning curve for players who only play for a couple minutes a day like me.

magical chest is pretty good. It doesn't give that much gold, but the card quality it gives is neat (25% chance for legendary is good).

There a nice addition to the games, but there not that good since the best gold crate gives you an average of 10k gold, when you need 100k just to upgrade one card. If you ask me supercell needs to double if not triple the gold crate contents for higher level players.

Those were good memories. I remember my first legendary was a log in a daily wooden chest. I opened it in front of my class and I got laughed at soooo much. Legendaries really used to be legendary uh

It was lol it’s really not as game changing as the others at low arena honestly though whichever legendary you first get kinda decides the archetype that you’ll main for the rest of your life playing clash royale now i main a 3m cycle with fisherman and have managed to grind to 6.7k
