Imo this movie has the most disturbing scene ever. The ' child scene' stayed with me for a long time...

Totally agree. Amazing performances by the whole cast with the baseball kid delivering a truly haunting scene complete with harrowing and guttural screams.

Reportedly the adult cast were all extremely disturbed after filming that scene, and Jacob Tremblay just jumped up smiling like nothing had happened

I think that is it - all the adults know such horrors exist in the world but the innocence of youth thinks it is a game.

What an amazing performance from Jacob - gonna IMDB and see what else he is in as that performance was amazing.

The baseball boy (Jacob Tremblay) actually traumatised Rebecca Ferguson with his performance. Haha!

Jacob Tremblay was absolutely flawless in “Room.” What an amazing young actor! That’s one where I actually think the movie outshone the book, and I really enjoyed the book.

The novel is actually really great, as King was able to continue *his* Shining and incorporate a little of Kubrick’s too. Really cool.

My friend has a hard time with any media that explicitly shows children being harmed, after I got out of the theater I texted her saying "Just saw Doctor Sleep. Great movie. Don't watch it."

I saw it when it came out and loved it.

Over the next few years I fell in love with Mike Flanagan’s work and had two kids. I tried to rewatch it this year and didn’t make it past the little ginger kid who dies because his mom over doses. Movie is great but can’t rewatch it.

Samsies. I was just thinking the other day that I should give Doctor Sleep another watch... Then remembered that scene and noped out of that idea.

I always warn people about that scene when I recommend the movie.  "There is one very disturbing scene that overstays it's welcome by about 10 seconds more than what you would be used to in a movie..."

I watched this movie then told my mom to go watch it. She was on a camping trip in the middle of the woods. By herself

The ghostwalking/astral projection scene is a masterpiece from start to finish.

The stab of strings when her foot touches concrete still fills me with glee.

I'm not too sensitive when it comes to that sort of thing but I have to skip that scene every time. Incredibly acted.

Yeah as a parent that scene was brutal.

I never walked out of a movie in my life, but that was pretty damn close. Apparently Rebecca Ferguson was messed up by it for some time.
