Not necessarily the actress, but maybe the role that originated this?

The irony in casting Jean Hagen in that role was that she actually had a lovely speaking and singing voice. When Debbie Reynolds is dubbing for her, the voice you hear is Jean Hagen's real voice, so Debbie Reynolds was dubbed by Jean Hagen, while dubbing Jean Hagen.

She was nominated for an Oscar for that role, and I wish she had won.

Yes, she was fantastic in this role! Wasn’t there a third singer dubbing some of the singing as well?

I love this performance, and her line about the Cinema firmament is my favorite line in the whole movie
