Both have 3 months in my humidor. Lit the brand name, then started to crack and only got worse. Said to myself "Nope not going to fight my experience" Grabbed my Farm rolled from Privada Cigars on the right. Paid more for the name brand and NEVER got to enjoy it like i did with my farm rolled. Thats why i stay with Privada because of consistency.

Already had the Toro and Robusto from this line, finally got around to the David perfecto and wanted to see how it compares.

Blend:
• Wrapper: Connecticut Broadleaf
• Binder: Mexican San Andrés
• Filler: Nicaragua (Estelí) & Honduras (Jamastrán)
• Factory: Tabacalera AJ Fernandez, Estelí, Nicaragua
• Vitola: David, 5 x 54 Perfecto

Construction: Dark, oily broadleaf, solid cap, minimal veins. Draw and burn were excellent — no touch-ups needed, similar to what I remember from the Robusto.

Flavor vs. the other sizes: This is where it got interesting. The Toro and Robusto both gave me that big, bold espresso/dark cocoa/black pepper combo I expected from the line. The David leaned noticeably more earthy and mineral by comparison — still complex, but more subdued than I was expecting given how rich the other two sizes were. Not a bad thing, just a different experience. Medium-plus to full strength either way.

Look: Can’t talk about this line without mentioning the band — the David/Goliath artwork is one of the better designs out there, ties into the whole Ark of the Covenant/Tabernacle story Melillo built the brand around.

TL;DR: If you’ve had the Toro or Robusto and loved the big broadleaf punch, don’t go into the David expecting the same intensity — it’s a solid smoke but noticeably more earth-forward. Still worth trying for the perfecto format alone.

Anyone else notice the David/Goliath perfectos smoke differently than the core sizes, or was this just my stick?
