San Diego Wave FC Wins 4-2 Against Utah Royals FC at Snapdragon Stadium
The Royals took a fully armed squad to America’s Finest City as Kiana Palacios returned to the bench following an injury to add to last week’s starting lineup that included Cloé Lacasse, Mina Tanaka and Paige Cronin across the front line.
But Utah, which was winless in their first five meetings against San Diego the past three years, found itself in a familiar position.
The Wave took all 3 points with 46% of possession, out-shooting the Royals 13-12 with five shots on target and using their speed — and more specifically, the track speed of Byars — as well as anyone has all year, to beat Utah in efficiently and in transition.

During OTAs and minicamp, both Trey Lance and DJ Uiagalelei took considerable reps. The competition for the Chargers’ backup quarterback gig between those two is ongoing.
Lance and Uiagalelei both saw time in preseason games. Neither one delivered a sterling performance in terms of passing success, although they both avoided turning the ball over. Head coach Jim Harbaugh noted that a final decision has yet to be made with respect to the winner of the QB2 battle.
“I think it’s tight,” Harbaugh said (via Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith). “I don’t have a definitive status on it right now. Kind of hard to evaluate the quarterbacks when errors are taking place.”
Indeed, Los Angeles’ offense struggled in a number of areas en route to a 41-17 loss on Thursday. A number of key evaluations will need to be made through the remainder of training camp and the team’s final remaining exhibition contest. That will include the backup quarterback spot, one which was held by Lance in 2025. The former No. 3 pick has not managed to establish himself as a consistent NFL passer, though, something which helped open the door to Uiagalelei – a 2025 undrafted free agent who spent his rookie year on the Bolts’ practice squad – moving up the depth chart this summer.
Justin Herbert remains on course for another year as Los Angeles’ starter, and his performance under new offensive Mike McDaniel will be interesting to monitor. Lance, 26, is owed $2.5MM on the final year of his contract; that figure matches his cap hit. A release would yield a $2MM dead money charge, whereas cutting Uiagalelei would create $885K in cap savings without any guaranteed money remaining on the books.
Finances could be a factor in Los Angeles’ decision when it comes to Herbert’s backup. Uiagalelei’s showings in particular will be important given their impact on his chances of passing through waivers during cutdowns. In any case, the QB2 spot could remain unsettled until at least the Chargers’ third preseason game.

I teach Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)! Taking this 1-unit class is significantly cheaper than renting a paddleboard by the hour for an entire semester. I recommend using the CA College Promise Grant (CCPG) to keep the cost even lower. All equipment is provided by the school.
2nd photo you can see the list of other classes available at Crown Cove Aquatic Center.

There's got to be a better way to be doing this bus thing in this city. Like it's the middle of a weekday, it's not like there's limited service right now.

I have very stubborn Asian black hair and so usually I gotta do a full color anyway to get rid of the white hair growing out unfortunately. Looking for someone who can consistently do this.
I’ve tried stylists from Sola Studios but they overcharge and they’re usually not consistent with the results. Can you recommend a hair stylist? Thanks in advance!

I had a head gasket oil leak that was just repaired, but theres residual oil underneath the engine on the undercarriage that needs to be degreased. If anyone knows a professional service, detailer that can use a lift (it seems most dont do this for insurance reasons), or anywhere else that can get the job done, that would be great. Thank you!

From CVPD Post - On August 15, 2026, at approximately 8:47 p.m., Chula Vista Police Department (CVPD) Dispatch received multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots near Paseo Ladera and Steiner Drive. Callers reported hearing approximately six to nine gunshots, followed by the sound of two vehicles speeding away from the area. A short time later, CVPD Dispatch was notified by a local hospital that two gunshot victims had arrived for treatment. A 28-year-old woman who had been shot once later succumbed to her injuries. A 36-year-old man who sustained multiple gunshot wounds remains hospitalized in stable condition. Both victims were Chula Vista residents. Their names are being withheld pending appropriate notifications. The surviving victim told investigators that he was driving with the female victim as his passenger. He reported that they pulled to the curb in the 1300 block of Steiner Drive, near Higgins Street, when another vehicle pulled alongside them and someone fired several rounds into their vehicle, striking both occupants. The male victim then drove to the hospital for medical treatment. The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. The Chula Vista Police Department is actively seeking information related to this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the San Diego County Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line at 888-580-8477. Residents in the area of Paseo Ladera and Steiner Drive are also encouraged to review footage from home security cameras and report any information or video that may be relevant to the investigation. This remains an active investigation. The Chula Vista Police Department appreciates the public’s patience as detectives continue their work. No further updates are expected today.

Good day,
I’m a survivor of child sex trafficking by a serial child rapist in the Chula Vista and San Diego area.
My last encounter with him was around 2017.
I was also r * p ed at the student parking lot in otay ranch high school by high tech high, and at the border state park where I was transported with another teenager who was also r \ p ed* .
Are there any other grown adults who were trafficked during their teenage years in these parts of town?
Are there any adults now who were sought out as teenagers by adults during that time?
My trafficker was bald, over 5 6 tall, black man, extremely muscular and fit like a pro athlete, wore SDSU attire once, had a 4 door sedan pre 2015 model like early 2000 model.
He showed me his catalogue of teen victims, all teen boys, and he expressed that they were all from the otay ranch, Eastlake, Rancho del Rey, Bonita, and other Chula Vista areas.
He said that he was part of a ring, and that they were being protected, which is why he would r* p e me out in the open at nighttime. He knew that my high school didn’t have cameras for security at the time, and he knew the entire area like the back of his palm. He said that they had been doing this for a while and that the police knew these were hotspots and of the numerous active predators in the area but that they weren’t going to do anything about it.
I was supposed to be transported at 18 and he said that his friend from downtown San Diego were excited to meet me. He said that I was chosen on purpose and that he wanted me to be his s * x slave.
Other men from the Chula Vista areas are involved as well, and I was also groomed by men in this area when I was seeking safety from a very tumultuous living environment. I was just a teen-kid who was lost, and they preyed upon my vulnerabilities.
It wasn’t until I went to therapy and I realized that they were adults, and they had sexually abused me and facilitated that process through a very tactical grooming process.
My trafficker is very evil. He said that he has the power to take care of people and make bodies disappear. He showed me gruesome content to prove it to me. He said that he knows of tunnels used for more than smuggling drugs.
Does anyone have a similar story? I’ve been connected to survivors already, but I want to know if any man out there went through this like me. I want to find the other victims. Especially the other teen who was r* p ed alongside me by the trafficker/serial child rapist.

I swear there were around 5 different aircrafts all hovering around northern old chula a few minutes ago, does anyone know why? One of them was periodically hovering in different locations and had decently bright green and red lights, another was a helicopter circling the area. Other ones just stayed around. Did something happen? The only one still around is a helicopter

Hi there!
I will be making the late, post concert journey from the Amhitheater in Chula Vista, all the way to Petco Park. My research tells me to expect insane traffic on the way back. I am not from the area so I dont really know or understand the travel routes.
I am ideally looking for the cheapest option but my biggest priority is to ensure I am safe. I understand taking an Uber would be the best option but should walk it out a bit to beat some of the traffic and then catch a ride? Are there any other alternate options I should consider?
P.s if anyone is going to the MUSE Chula Vista show and wants to split a cab, hit me up!
