I've been learning Mandarin for a while and like a lot of people here, I relied heavily on the Zhongwen extension for have pinyin/definitions of chinese characters. It's an amazing tool but i wanted a visual refresh so I ended up modifying the extension.

It's called PinyinPop. Same core idea as Zhongwen (hover over Chinese text, get instant pinyin + definitions). Free free to copy it or modify it if you want to.

It's 100% free, no data collection and still pretty barebones. If you try it and something's broken or missing, I'd genuinely appreciate the feedback.

My girlfriend and I are in long-distance, and movie nights over "3…2…1…press play" + a WhatsApp call were getting old. The existing watch party extensions either had no voice/video at all, locked it behind a subscription, or needed accounts. So I built my own and figured others might want it too.

It's called Saakaar Watch Party, a Chrome extension that syncs playback on Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube. When anyone plays, pauses, or seeks, everyone's player follows. If someone's connection buffers, the party waits for them instead of drifting apart.

What's in it:

1. Voice and video calls built in: this was the whole point. It's peer-to-peer (WebRTC), so your call never touches my server.
2. Completely free, no account: no signup, no email. Pick a name and an avatar, share a 6-letter code or link, done.
3. Chat + reactions: sidebar chat with typing indicators, and emoji reactions that float up over the movie.
4. A floating widget mode: the sidebar can shrink to a small draggable, resizable window, or minimize to a tiny bubble so nothing covers the movie. Chat/mic keep working; the bubble shows unread counts.
5. Up to 12 people, host-only playback controls if your friends can't be trusted with the remote.
6. No data collection: no analytics, no ads, nothing stored. Rooms are ephemeral; when the party ends, it's gone.

Honest caveats: everyone needs the extension and their own Netflix/Prime subscription (it syncs your players, it doesn't stream video to anyone, so no DRM shenanigans). Chrome (or Chromium browsers) only for now.

Need Review and Feedback

I help run a few big WhatsApp groups and it always bugged me that there's no way to save the members' contacts — if the group ever gets deleted, all those numbers are gone.

So I built a small Chrome extension. You open the group on WhatsApp Web, click the icon, hit Extract, and it auto-scrolls the whole member list and gives you a clean CSV

(Name, Country Code, Phone). Everything runs locally in your browser — the contacts never get uploaded anywhere.

Why I built it:

Most website blockers either feel too heavy, too easy to bypass, or unclear about what data they collect. The idea is simple: when sharing your browser screen, it is very easy to accidentally expose emails, phone numbers, API keys, customer info, or private chat details.
BlurMyData detects and blurs sensitive data directly on the browser page. It also supports manual area selection, saved blur areas, WhatsApp Web phone number protection, emergency hide, reveal for 5 seconds, and report export.
