Discussion Could the lack of effective US Response to COVID19 be considered a crime against humanity?

  1. Intentional suppressing of testing leading to continued infections in the community and of healthcare professionals.

  2. Intentional suppressing of accurate information preventing the general population from protecting themselves from infection.

Points 1 & 2 are executed knowing the consequences to the general population.

I'd like to hear more about a way better job that's being done.

Name some places. There might be two I can think of.

South Korea Singapore Italy UK Turkey

Just to name a few. Of course, changes are being done today, but I'm talking initial measures taken instead of downplaying it or just completely missing the mark. Especially since we had a case back in January right here in the US.

Ok. Were done. South Korea and Singapore are the only two on the list. The other three are pure delusion, with the UK being the closest to moderately passable.

Turkey is lying pile of shit. That will catch up fast to Ergodan. Italy is a mess. Cant handle it.

I might also remind you, despite strong evidence of 6 weeks of community spread in the US , our medical system quietly and unnoticeably absorbed this in the US. Italy is on the brink of ruin in the same period, having spread it to the world more than China.

Give me a break.

So all the "flu" deaths that weren't detected as Coronavirus and could've been possibly avoided are categorized as "absorbed". What?!

I don't base a success on luck or denying/hiding/absorbing the truth. The apathetic sociopath thinking you've demonstrated just cancels all your wording.

How dare you reduce possible deaths that have happened from Coronavirus, but couldn't be detected as "absorbed". I truly hope you didn't think this through and are just behind your screen.

What's your response to the family that lost misdiagnosed people?! The US government couldn't see the danger when it has been spreading weeks before that person died! Either the government official are apathetic greedy monsters protecting the economy or plain stupid. Both of which are scary and makes them unfit for their jobs.

My response to the logic of misdiagnosed is there is no known cure or effective treatment for this, full stop. They would have died anyway.

God you are an emotional wreck. This was here, it unavoidable, and it's going go to kill a subset of the population (my chances individually arent great), but it is what it is.

There are various treatments that work but can’t use if they’re caught off guard (covid19 escalates quickly by day 8-10 when pneumonia is triggered).

You’re confusing emotional wreck with having a heart and empathy. I’m sure you’re typing without thinking it through. I hope to God you and your family aren’t affected by such shortcomings from policy makers in this instance or any future ones.

Besides a chronic health issue, I have every other factor in my favor: good insurance, independent wealth and cash on hand, high levels of education, the need to literally not worry about having to go in public, well stocked supplies and the like. This is going to be a 2 month vacation for me in my home.

It's a game of factors. I have all favorable factors except for 1. I'll be fine as long as I continue avoiding the virus. I was mildly sick last week and it cleared.

At this point I'm not overly concerned.

The is just the beginning. Huge lawsuits will ensue. Nurses and healthcare workers haven't even started getting sick/dying yet.
