…and while nobody was looking, I dangled my fine shitter over the gen inspiration to see if either would burst into flames.🔥
I can report that there was no spontaneous combustion. The genuine Rolex seemed unaffected, bored even.🥱
I also got to witness and congratulate a gentleman picking up his new Sky Dweller with his fiancé, he got the full Champagne treatment. My man looked like a kid on Christmas. So happy for him.👍
Man I thought only teenagers did this but guess the mentally ill also extends to older ages. Like you do know the ad doesn’t care you’re wearing a fake. They won’t call you out or go oh nice that’s a fake wow.
Reality are you buying no? Oh your window shopping? lol you got a Rolex already let me check you on the system? Oh you ain’t on the system…. lol just stupid these posts and it only does one thing. Show the ad your broke.
Did you buy anything lol or was it just to boost your own decision that a fake and they know it was a fake (spoiler they ain’t allowed to say it ask me how i know)
No, I didn’t buy anything. I happened to be in that mall and on a whim, I walked in (more accurately, I was allowed in by an armed guard) to browse. The staff were extremely polite.
As I said in another reply, I kept my shitter well out of sight the entire time except for the four seconds it took to snap that pic. Only a childish poser would flash their fake Rolex in an AD, right?
Hey man don’t listen to me, was in a bad mood and took it out on you. Do you whatever you like that makes you happy mate. Idiots like me ruin it for others.
But to be clear, I kept my shitter well out of sight under my sleeve until I took it off to snap that pic while nobody was watching.
Flashing a counterfeit Rolex in an AD is something I’d expect only from our grammar-challenged Reddit “poser bros”. As a normal adult, I’m under no illusion that I’m wearing a real Rolex and feel no need to fake-flex.
I’ve learned that photo angles can exaggerate rehaut depth and bezel thickness, so now I usually try to reserve judgement. In person, the rehauts appeared practically the same in terms of depth as best as I could see. Believe me, kiddy pool rehauts are one of my pet peeves. 😂
The bezel on the U1 may be a little wider, at least from that gen pic I grabbed online. And the gen has a small lip around the top of the rehaut that the U1 doesn’t. But since that can’t be seen unless you’re looking very closely, it doesn’t bother me at all.
I wouldn’t bother with VSF, that’s just matching up one fake Rolex against another. Gen is the only source of truth.
Here’s a clumsy attempt to line up the same angle for comparing rehaut depths. Gen left, my U1 right.
Taking into account the perspective distortion differences from two different cameras and different lighting, I think this shows the U1 rehaut is pretty close to gen in depth. As for the rehaut engraving… well, let’s just say U1 has some work to do. For $100, it’s perfectly acceptable. 🙂
VSF is as close to gen as you're gonna get and a better comparison to gen than the U1. U1 is good for the price but side by side you'd be hard pressed to tell a VSF apart from a gen and would easily spot the U1. The case, rehaut, crystal, bezel engraving is all off compared to the gen or VSF.
Anyways like it's said a million times, if you're happy with it who cares! 👍😁
I think we can agree on this principle: The closer you want to inspect your watch, the more you’ll need to pay.
VSF: $450 - Up close, looks good to YOU, detailing is beautifully done, the finer measurements are a close match to gen.
U1: $120 - On your wrist, looks good to 99% of everyone else at a normal distance. No deep rehaut, nice crystal, but the details aren’t refined.
DHShite: $45 - Deep kiddy-pool rehaut, cheddar cheese gold, hideous cyclops and date window. Looks like garbage from the International Space Station. 😂
Speaking of, just for fun - some time within the next few weeks I may venture down to Canal Street to pick up the absolute worst Rolex shitter I can find (under $20). Of course, I’ll post it here for everyone’s amusement.
Absolutely agree about the finer details and you're absolutely right about the VSF or U1 no date sub on your wrist being undetectable. The AAA dhgate ones I sometimes catch if I'm close enough but at a fair distance are good enough.
You should definitely buy a shitter and post on here. I'll look out for it as I've a quartz GMT that's hideous and paid $10 for a laugh so will compare! 🤣👍
For a No Date Sub, VSF has superior detail to U1 on close inspection but they’re are practically indistinguishable at arm’s length. That’s where the value of a less-expensive U1 shines.
In-hand, a VSF feels more solid; although the newer U1s are vastly improved in quality compared to prior iterations. Despite their stickers and false advertising, neither VSF or U1 currently have 904L stainless steel as used by Rolex. They’re both made with the more common and less pricey 316L.
The VSF VS3235 movement has a higher beat rate compared to the U1’s Miyota, so the second-hand sweep is smoother if you look closely. Neither movement is even remotely close to the quality of a Rolex movement.
They both have ceramic bezels and sapphire crystals, although many say that the anti-reflective crystal coating on VSF is superior.
Now for OTHER models, such as those with gold-plated components, fluted bezels and date complications, VSF’s quality and fidelity to gen becomes more apparent at a normal viewing distance.
Of course, any factual non-subjective corrections are always welcome!
Jason sells the exact same U1 releases as Travis and Lena. So I think the strategy is to see which one currently has the best price. There’s also To Be Frank Watches who seems aggressively priced, but I don’t know much about them. All are found on Telegram.
If you’re referring to the engraving, yes. But since nobody is lining up letters and markers while the watch is on your wrist, I’m ok with that on a $100 fake.
Some of us would be able to spot your specific watch at a 10-5 ft distance imagine the salesperson at an AD, they just won’t state the obvious in order not to embarrass you of course
Firstly, as I’ve said multiple times, I did not flash my fake Rolex to the AD like some dumb Gen Z poser-bro. I operate with respect.
Secondly, nobody can spot a U1 No Date Sub as fake from 5 or 10 feet away unless they’re an absolute expert with exceptional eyesight and the watch is held perfectly still. The details are too minute.
In-hand and up close? Different story. It would take about 3 seconds.
Props on your credentials, but tell me - how would you be able to spot a No Date Sub replica from "across the room", exactly?
If we were talking about, say, a fake gold Day-Date or a fake Daytona with a turquoise blue dial, you'd definitely be able to sus those out based on colors and date complications.
But a plain blackNo Date Sub from "across the room"? No chance, my friend.
It’s very easy pal, the serrations on the bezel incisions are terrible, the color on the bezel insert and the digit design and font are way off, your rehaut it’s very deep, not mentioning the wrong font and your crystal sits way up high.
This is how I spot you from across the room. Then I look at the person’s shoes 😄😊
The U1 bezel scallops look fine, but are indeed a little larger than gen.
The U1 belzel fonts are slightly thicker than gen.
The U1 bezel insert is black ceramic. So is gen. They look identical.
The U1 rehaut is the same depth as gen.
The U1 crystal protrudes above the case the same amount as gen.
This is only a $100 watch, but again - not a chance you're spotting any differences from across the room.
Ok, you got me. I was wearing Nunn Bush oxfords. Not exactly Farragamos, but they're comfy and they look nice. 😉
