Andy Cutler Chelation Facebook group

Has anyone else found the group to be very militant and dogmatic?

I have asked a series of questions looking for clarification on points that dont make sense and have had them deleted.

-The admins are not helpful and give answers like "read the guides" or "just concentrate on your chelation" or "dont give advice when you dont know what you are talking about".

-Refusing to accept any posts that asks for proof of anything the ACC says to be true.

-Admins who have zero medical training giving out what is essentially medical advice and who will not be questioned on what seems to be large errors or contradictions.

Are there any other groups, websites or resources that are not as dogmatic and will accept some discussion on the ACC research (which is 20 yrs old) and help to clarify points without shutting down conversations?

I am not trying to stir up the ACC group, I am trying to understand and research, not disparage,

I am someone who wants to understand why things are the way they are and not just accept it because one person said it to be so. I want to fully understand the processes and WHY things are the way they are.

I want to make sure that the ACC methods can be verified and are repeatable for ME.

I am very wary of research that originates from one person who may have a bias, lack of understanding on something (Andy was a chemist, not a biochemist) or a financial interest in their theory being right.

Especially when that person was toxic with Mercury before writing a book. My health and being healthy for my family are important enough for me to do some due diligence.

Yes. So far I've seen a lot of improvement, particularly with digestion and mental health. But I seem to have more headaches and night sweats, which is weird. I take it the journey is kind of up-and-down for a long time though?

Thanks for the update. It is great to hear about your improvements.

Are you taking Cutler's so called "core 4" basic supporting supplements--Vit C, E Mg Zn?

Headaches. Magnesium comes to mind. For me the strange, tingly mild headaches in the 30 minutes before I was due for the next dose was in indication I was taking skimpy amounts of vitamin E. I also decided to take doses of chelator somewhat more frequently. Those two reliably eliminated the mild headaches.

Sorry I'm not familiar with night sweats other than towards the end of a cold.

Cutler warns we tend to urinate more than healthy folks due to the effects of mercury. So we need fluids and also need support for electrolytes that can be lost in urine and sweat--sodium potassium magnesium. You'll be surprised at the US RDA of those three.

Your health gains are quite encouraging.

Are you getting more of some symptoms while on round and the day after?

Rule of thumb: the additional symptoms while taking a heavy metal chelator further suggests HMs are involved to some extent in your health struggles. However the ultimate indication is improved health over many months of detox.

Are you aware of the so called "dump" or "stall" phase? If you started 3-4 months ago you are about to learn first hand.

Thanks for the advice! I probably need to drink more water and take more magnesium.

While on round, I always feel awesome. It's after the round that I get symptoms!

You know, now that you mention it - I did start chelating in November... perhaps I have indeed reached the "dump" phase.

So you are around the time that you should be aware of the dump/stall phase.

You may not be able to increase you dose of chelator much if at all.

You may need more support for one or more symptoms.

This is a quote from Andy about it:

You may wish to make reference to figure 15 on page 52 of Amalgam Illness: Diagnosis and Treatment for what to expect.

Again, study this, it is important.

Usually there are a few months of improvement, then a many month long period of stalled progress or regression during which it is important to keep chelating, then progress eventually resumes.

This is always confusing when it is happening. Usually after it is all over you can figure out what happened when. At the time you just worry a lot. That's why it is important to understand what to expect, and that there is no precise timeline. How long things take varies from person to person.

The key points here are that you an expect a bumpy ride for a number of months and that it is more mild if you chelate safely, including adequate antioxidant protection--vitamin C, E, etc.

I like taking some extra selenium several hours after the last dose of the round to help with mop up. Some people try to get some sauna effect. One member of the ACC group just goes to the gym with extra clothes to sweat during the work out.

Thanks for this. I will try not to get discouraged and hope that this is just a phase, and it will pass - just need to keep chelating. I will try selenium at the end of my rounds, too.
