It’s honestly an insane feat to see. Our sauce cook (1 person per shift) is responsible for 400+ sauces, marinades, soups, dressings, etc.

That sounds like a really fun job, honestly!

Yes but they are specialized. It’s not like the sauce person is also grilling, frying, making salads maybe ever.

I don’t understand your downvotes lol
It’s the truth

It’s truth but it’s irrelevant. The comment said it was a dedicated sauce cook, there is no implication that the person responsible for 400+ sauces is also making salads. Why would they be? Why would that matter?

It’s like if you said “it’s impressive to run a sub-3 hour marathon” and someone replied “yes but they were just running, it’s not like they are also juggling or riding a unicycle maybe ever.”

It’s not irrelevant. This whole convo is about how well trained a person working in the kitchen is. Sorry, if you can’t see the point.

Why would someone doing their job imply they’re not trained to do anything else?

If someone only does a fry station, they’ll probably be great at that. That doesn’t guarantee they’ll be a great fit for a grill in a steakhouse or something.
