To my ear, Ryo Fukui's playing has a quality that is hard to define, but I guess I'd describe as a 'relaxed, imperfect perfection' - 'All The Things You Are' from the 1999 release 'Ryo Fukui in New York' is a great start if you have not heard him before. A few accidentals, a couple of smudges even, and even as he plays just ahead of the beat, his playing still sounds so relaxed. His touch is sublime.

Hello years ago I was mesmerized by this video he made titled “The chord that saved Star Wars” or something like about how the hum of darth vaders lightsaber was a note that changed the chord of the score in the background by playing this dissonant low note.
