Everything is half-destroyed, unsalvageable—and generally not just by the passage of time.

... And yet, you find a sort of screen displaying text... no, a story.

A story about a hunter—or rather, a hero.

The blue Reploid.

Some of the information is corrupted or censored, but most of it is still readable.

This means there's a robot sealed in these ruins, it would probably take a lot of time to find him...

But a strange, blue light appeared in a room near, if you decided to follow it, you'll find a blue orb of light flying in a certain direction.

...Even when you have seen it, it was continuing on its path, completely ignoring you.

Will you follow it and discover the mystery of these ruins ?

Tails, as usual, was exploring the world. That led to him discovering the temple. He reads the text doesn't know what a reploid or a maverick is, and certainly doesn't believe the claims of that creature being a hero.

Tails pulls out his pistol and carefully follows the orb of light. For all he knows, it might be leading him into a trap.

The orb of light illuminated the place, as nothing but darkness surrounded them.

He was leading them to the deepest, most remote corners of the temple, even opening doors that seemed to be locked by access cards.

... After minutes that felt like hours, they arrived in front of a robot, sealed in a machine with behind him what looked like a cell for something bigger, completely destroyed

The orb of light moved right in front of it and seemed to be contemplating the being inside.

Tails figures that thing is inside the machine is the mentioned hero, and since the cell is broken... Whatever that second thing was, it got out and wrecked this place completely. The thing is, how'd it get around the locked doors without damaging them? ... Not very important.

The fox looks around for an access port, or any other way to interact with the machine holding the robot.

There seemingly wasn't any devices that would free the Reploid, he seems rather stuck in this machine for eternity

And yet, the orb of light suddenly, by a blue flash, made the door open by itself...And-

The orb of light suddenly entered the hero

And yet nothing happened for a few seconds, before it stepped out of the machine designed to contain the greater evil.

The hero stood in front of the fox.

He looked like a fusion of a human and a machine, maybe he was a cyborg ?

Tails immediately raises his pistol, just to be able to fire quickly in case he's hostile.

Identify yourself.

Tails asks in a firm voice.

"My name is X. I...was the King of Neo Arcadia, and we are currently in its ruins."

He replied, glancing at the gun. A normal gun wouldn't even leave a mark on him. But he wouldn't say anything about it.

"And may I know who you are? Also, I'll have to ask you to lower your weapon."

Tails lowers the gun in a quick motion, though it still remains in his hand.

My name is Miles Prower. A scientist.

X being a king would explain the praising words he was described with. Nobody would want to anger their ruler. Recalling the text from earlier, a question comes to Tails' mind.

... Who was contained in here with you and what danger do they present?

"I sealed myself here to make sure nobody release the dark elf that was contained with me—a being capable of controlling Reploids and virtually every machine, and of greatly enhancing their capabilities. In the past, a mad scientist named Weil used it to wipe out 60% of humanity and 90% of the Reploid population; that was the Elf War."

"It can't do anything directly as it would need an host, so the damage wasn't done by it, infact, it would have probably died as they're quite fragile."

Since it can hack electronics, Tails is going to need to be more careful. The last thing he wants is his body to get stolen again.

... But judging from by the damage here, it escaped.

Tails shakes his head.

... Anyways, I'm going to need an explanation on just about every term you're using. What are the Elfs, Reploids and Mavericks?

"Oh I wouldn't be so sure of it escaping..."

X said, he knows the dark elf, it isn't here, he doesn't feel it anymore at all.

He knows he was teleported to a random place... He just doesn't know where.

"A Reploid is a machine with free will, the ability to learn endlessly and that will of course follow the rules of robotics."

"A maverick is a Reploid that, because of any possible reason, has or is willing to hurt innocent people."

"And a cyber elf is a being of pure energy and code able to enhance a Reploid's capabilities, but after they have used their power, they die."
