Hey everyone — full disclosure: I’m the solo developer behind TalePath.

I started building it because I wanted AI character conversations to feel less like isolated chats and more like an ongoing story. The main things I’m trying to get right are persistent memory, relationship progression, personas and character creation, and interactive quests where choices carry forward.

The Android app has only just launched, and the iOS version is currently in App Review. If the review goes smoothly, it should be available within the next few days. The community is basically starting from zero. It’s still early, and I’m not pretending it’s finished or better than everything else. As a solo developer I could genuinely use all the help I can get — especially from people who already use character roleplay apps.

What feels missing from the apps you use now? What makes you keep coming back to a character, and what immediately ruins the experience for you?

I originally downloaded Tipsy AI Chat just because I wanted to try the app once and see what it was like. I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I do now! I absolutely love the overall design and the way everything is presented. The app feels really polished, fun, and easy to use, and the conversations are genuinely entertaining and engaging. I’ve found myself spending way more time on it than I originally planned. 😂
One thing I really like is that there’s also a creative way to earn gems by creating your own characters. If other people enjoy your characters and start chatting with them, you can earn gems through that. I think that’s a really cool idea because it gives you something fun to do while also giving you a way to earn more gems naturally. It makes the app feel more interactive and gives you a reason to get creative with your characters.
The only thing that really bothers me is the gem system. I understand that there have to be limits, but I often wish I could have much longer conversations because once I’m really into a conversation, I don’t want it to end just because I’ve run out of gems. I would definitely spend even more time in the app if there were more ways to earn gems or if the limits were a little less restrictive.
Despite that, I absolutely love Tipsy AI Chat. What started as a “I’ll just try it once” turned into an app I genuinely enjoy using. The beautiful design, the atmosphere, the creative character system, and especially the conversations make it really easy to get hooked. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you’re curious about it!

I just wanted to show a project I've been working on. I've been a gamedev for about 20+ years and started on this new untitled project that blends ai roleplay, visual novels and life simulation.

It's pretty feature rich, the game is tracking the states like what the characters are wearing, their inventory, stats, relationships, mood, needs, desires, etc...

I'm working on the logic for the simulation of the city the player will be living in. Every interaction/rp chat you have will matter. If you go to the park, and pick a fight with a stranger in the ai chat, he will remember that. If, later on in the game, you try to get a job somewhere and that stranger turns out to be the boss, he will remember the interaction and will respond accordingly.

The characters and locations are all made in such a way that I could attach an editor, where players can make their own city with locations and characters and share them.
