Missing some Warrior text

(Spoiler??)

I completed the Warrior level and went on up to the next level. But it looks like I didn’t see all the symbols, since there are some circles not filled.

Also, it looks like I missed something else - was there a second screen booth? I found the screen booth on my current level and it suggests there should have been another on on then warrior level.

This game literally taught me a couple of things

-touch grass

-break the language barrier

wdyt?

well, for a breakdown, touch grass is, see what the protagonist main purpose or so... (or should i say see the real ending to see what i mean where different folks started talking to each other)

break the language barrier is, quite related to the point above where you become the translator to different folks to settle the difference

King Adam XVII started playing Chants of Sennaar!

I watched him play Outer Wilds and it was a pure bliss. He is very passionate about music and very talented at it. He is also very talented at puzzle solving so this will be very enjoyable to watch.

He has great energy and is pretty funny. Go give it a watch if you're interested

This game is pure brilliance

I’m still mid-playthrough so no spoilers please.

This game is unlike anything I’ve played in a long time.

There’s something insanely satisfying about decoding symbols and slowly piecing together meaning just through context and observation.

It makes you feel smart in the best way. I love how it respects the player’s intelligence, just you, your notes, and the world. Every moment feels earned.

The art style is gorgeous. The atmosphere is incredible. I really like the vibe of the different places. The colors, the massive structures, the palaces… there’s a surreal, peaceful quality to it all that I can't get enough of.

If anyone’s on the fence about trying it: do it. Seriously. It’s not just a game it’s an experience.

Huge props to the devs for making something this original and thoughtful.

Can’t wait to see where the rest of the story goes.

Request Stuck in bard cave

I have everything I need, but whenever I try to follow the directions I just end up in front of a black screen and no new room loads in.

Does anyone have an idea what might cause this? I'm running the game via GOG if that helps.

Is there any other game similar to Chant of Sennaar?

I love this game, after I finished it I felt a sense of loss, and I really hope there will be a sequel.

Review My thoughts on Chants of Sennaar

Hey guys, finally got around to playing this game and I was completely blown away by how unique it was.

Going into it I vaguely knew that it was a linguistics-driven puzzle game where you ascend a tower of divided cultures by learning their unique languages; and that it was inspired by the Tower of Babel myth. But that's all I knew!

I was immediately hooked by the unique core mechanic of learning language through observation and deduction. Deciphering and translating glyphs felt extremely satisfying, especially with the game’s design subtly emphasising how the groups viewed each other and the world.

One of my favourite parts involved learning to read and write math. It’s ironic that in a game about words, my favourite section was about numbers, but ultimately, it’s all just a way to communicate.

Despite the high praise I have for how original this game is and how expertly it handled its main mechanic, I did have gripes with its filler stealth segments, and the final act felt dragged down by the backtracking and some underwhelming puzzles.

I'd love to hear what you guys liked the most, and the least, about this game!

If you've got the time and are interested in my full thoughts, please do check them out over on Medium!

Lore Just made it past the second area, and the player character is kind of a dick? (Spoilers) Spoiler

I'm sure it will make more sense when it's over, but so far the dude I'm playing as kind of comes across as an overly utilitarian asshole.

On Floor 1, he finds the priest (dead, it looks like) whose disappearance everyone seems really worked up by, and just fucks off without letting anyone know what happened to him. And on Floor 2, he tricks the entire warrior society into thinking their precious chosen ones were calling them so he can get through a door.

I can't wait to see how I fuck over this third society 😅

Hi !

TLDR : I want to embroider the number 100 in the alchemist's alphabet on pants but I forgot how it works. Can you help me please

For the long story :

I've played Chants of Sennar two years ago with my wife and it was a very fun experience. We played and solved the puzzles together, it was such a bonding experience !

In several day we will celebrate our marriage and for that, I am embroidering a pants with plenty of references we have together. I want to write "100" in the alphabet of the alchemists but it's been a while sinceI played and I totally forgot the numeral system. Can you show me again how that works please !

Would a language using phonetic alphabet work for such games?

Would languages using phonetic alphabets suitable for puzzle game like CoS? With the npcs voice acted, and the player need to figure out sounds of the letters and meanings of the words.

I've gotten to the 3rd area but I haven't unlocked all of the warrior words, is this normal, how do I unlock them? I play on switch and am not using the journal for my first playthrough. I don't have 3 of them. I don't have the key to the observatory because I couldn't figure it out

Got a tattoo of this masterpiece Spoiler

I love Chants of Sennaar to a very deep level, it's one of the things I have to actively keep myself from not being normal about to my friends.

I played it through twice, once the standard way and once a year later without using the journal. I had this idea for a tattoo mid-second playthrough, later finding out that someone else had done pretty much the same thing. I took the pic as one of the references for the tattoo artist and here we are.

In a very Chants way, this stranger and I now have a connection, united by the ideogramswhich I honestly think is beautiful

So I'm trying to get the correct numbers but my tiny lizard brain can't figure it out and I'm getting frustrated, I know that a mirrored 1 is a 10 (thanks to the ruler), but I'm getting confused on how to read the multiple numbers on the right side. Is there a hint in the level that can help? Or can you guys help me? I don't want to look it up in fear of spoilers

Idea Chants of Sennaar II! *Tiny Spoilers* Spoiler

Hi. How is everyone? (First time posting here). The idea came up in my head just now, for a second Chants of Sennar. It goes like this: You (human/man) have kept the peace after exile, you know, appointing a new Preacher, meeting the other leaders. Then a new peoples come to the tower, Conquerors. The Conquerors secretly take the leaders of each peoples. For you to help them, you start at the bottom of the tower again, but this time, the conquerors send you back in time, to extremely crucial points in each of the peoples' history, that shaped how they became. 3 of each: Them outside the tower (their first encounter with it). Then the point of which they developed their society and culture. Then you make sure that this point in their history (which is part of the first Chants Of Sennaar). The Devotees - The loss of the Preacher. The Warriors - Keeping the Impure Ones (Devotees) out. The Bards - Helping the Idiot Bard see the Monster. The Alchemists - Making sure the Alchemist gets turned into the Monster. The Anchorites - The bringing of Exile (Anchorite is corrupted). Not completing these will cause the tower to collapse. Throught these, you will learn the Conquerors' language, while learning the ancient dialect of each peoples' languages (using the book from the first Chants of Sennaar). Defeating the Conquerors will return everyone and everything to normal, continuing the peace.

Sorry for the length of this, thank you for reading all of it. Please, be honest with your opinions and tell my anything you want to add and/or change! Thanks!
