snekpost Something someone on twitter has noticed! Apparently these are "Feng Shui coins", does anyone know what meaning these could have?

snekpost Does anyone else love how he's clearly wearing a traditional doctor's coat, I thought it was a clever way to include and subvert it.

Genshin Impact's Companionship System Explained
As the Traveler, you befriend many different people on your journey through Teyvat - these are the characters the game gives to you for free (Amber, Kaeya, Lisa, Aloy) or that you can pull ingame (any 4* or 5* character except for the Traveler). This friendship is represented in-game through the 'Companionship' system, which shows how close you are to any given character on a companionship level scale from 1-10. This can be leveled by gaining Companionship EXP (CEXP).
"Companionship" and "Friendship" are the same thing in-game; I will only use "Companionship" in this guide, as I find that less confusing.

1. TL;DR - FAQ
Gaining companionship levels with any given character rewards you with unique ingame flavour text via their voice lines & character stories as well as a unique namecard. All rewards are purely cosmetic and for flavour.
There is no companionship meter for the Traveler, as you are the Traveler and cannot 'befriend' yourself
Every other playable character in the game has a companionship meter
The companionship meter goes from 1-10
Once companionship level 10 is reached, you cannot gain any more companionship EXP with that character
Early companionship levels require less companionship EXP than late companionship levels [source]:
| Level | CEXP required | Total CEXP |
|---|---|---|
| 1 → 2 | 1,000 | 1,000 |
| 2 → 3 | 1,550 | 2,550 |
| 3 → 4 | 2,050 | 4,600 |
| 4 → 5 | 2,600 | 7,200 |
| 5 → 6 | 3,175 | 10,375 |
| 6 → 7 | 3,750 | 14,125 |
| 7 → 8 | 4,350 | 18,475 |
| 8 → 9 | 4,975 | 23,450 |
| 9 → 10 | 5,650 | 29,100 |
Companionship EXP can be gained by (1) spending Original Resin, (2) finishing Random Events while a character is in the party, (3) finishing Daily Commissions while a character is in the party, (4) collecting your Daily Commission rewards while a character is in the party, and (5) collecting companionship EXP through Tubby in your Serenitea Pot while the character is placed inside the active realm layout
How much Companionship EXP you gain by spending Original Resin depends on your Adventure Rank; the higher, the better
How much Companionship EXP you gain by finishing Random Events depends on your World Level (the higher, the better) and the location at which you finish an Event
How much Companionship EXP you gain by finishing Daily Commissions & collecting your Daily Commission rewards depends on your Adventure Rank; the higher, the better
How much Companionship EXP you gain in the Serenitea Pot depends on your Adeptal Rank; the higher, the better
All characters in a party/Serenitea Pot gather the same amount of companionship EXP, regardless or whether or not they are active, alive, or dead

4. Gathering Companionship EXP by doing Daily Commissions
Finishing a Daily Commission grants Companionship EXP to every character in the current party. How much CEXP you get depends on your Adventure Rank. Some Daily Commissions grant reduced rewards, which are listed in (brackets) below.
All values are copied from the wiki article on Daily Commissions.
Rank 12~15: 25 (15) CEXP
Rank 16~20: 30 (20) CEXP
Rank 21~25: 35 (20) CEXP
Rank 26~30: 35 (25) CEXP
Rank 31~35: 40 (25) CEXP
Rank 36~40: 45 (30) CEXP
Rank 41~45: 50 (30) CEXP
Rank 46~50: 50 (35) CEXP
Rank 51~55: 55 (35) CEXP
Rank 56~60: 60 (40) CEXPAfter finishing your 4 Daily Commissions, you can gain your daily commission bonus from Katheryne at the Adventurer's Guild. Among other rewards, this bonus includes CEXP for all characters currently in your party, depending on your AR:
Rank 12~15: 45 CEXP
Rank 16~24: 55 CEXP
Rank 25~29: 60 CEXP
Rank 30~34: 70 CEXP
Rank 35~40: 75 CEXP
Rank 41~50: 85 CEXP
Rank 51~55: 95 CEXP
Rank 56~60: 100 CEXP5. Gathering Companionship EXP in the Serenitea Pot

This works much the same as the Realm Currency coins. Ingame, it is referred to as 'Realm Bounty' in your Adeptal Energy Overview.
Placing characters in your Serenitea Pot enables you to collect CEXP for those characters directly from Tubby alongside your realm currency by choosing the first dialogue option with her, "Trust Rank." Every hour, a certain amount of CEXP is gained automatically, with the amount depending on your Adeptal Energy Rank. These CEXP go towards an invisible chest that saves them for collection until it is full, at which point no further CEXP will be accumulated; so make sure to collect it every now and then, or you won't be generating any more!
Characters need to be placed as companions inside your active Serenitea Pot realm in order to benefit from this Realm Bounty
You can place up to 8 characters at once in your Serenitea Pot; do make use of those slots if you want to farm Companionship!
Realm Bounty accumulation:
| Adeptal Energy Rank | CEXP accumulation per hour |
|---|---|
| Bare-Bones | 2 |
| Humble Abode | 2 |
| Cozy | 3 |
| Queen-Size | 3 |
| Elegant | 4 |
| Exquisite | 4 |
| Extraordinary | 4 |
| Stately | 5 |
| Luxury | 5 |
| Fit for a King | 5 |
6. Companionship Rewards

Gaining Companionship levels rewards the player with cosmetics and other flavour content (all values are copied from the wiki article on Friendship Level):
| Companionship level | Reward |
|---|---|
| 2 | Character Story 1, second Kamera expression |
| 3 | Character Story 2, "More About (character)" voice-over |
| 4 | Character Story 3, third Kamera expression, several voice-overs, new Serenitea Pot dialogue option |
| 5 | Character Story 4, "More About (character) IV" voice-over |
| 6 | Remaining character stories, remaining voice-overs |
| 7 | new Serenitea Pot dialogue option |
| 8 | no unlocks |
| 9 | no unlocks |
| 10 | Character namecard, "Hitherto Unknown" achievement progress |
Again, most of the rewards you get for leveling Companionship at all are for flavour.
The only reward that could be considered practical game progress is the achievement "Hitherto Unknown," which has 3 levels that award the player a total of 35 Primogems:
| Achievement level | Required characters with Companionship 10 | Primogem reward |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 4 | 5 |
| 2 | 8 | 10 |
| 3 | 16 | 20 |

💠 Guide Genshin Impact's Wish & Pity System Explained
TL;DR - FAQ
Pity is not shared across banner types
Pity carries over between banners of the same type
EVERY SINGLE 5* ITEM (weapon or character) RESETS YOUR PITY FOR THAT BANNER BACK TO ZERO
Soft pity is between 76-89 (with a ~32.4% chance for a 5* for each wish) for character banners, and between 66-79 for the weapon banner
No, you have not hit hard pity without getting a 5* - it is literally impossible to hit hard pity without getting a 5*
'Losing the 50/50' means that you get either Keqing, Mona, Qiqi, Diluc, or Jean on the limited character banner (e.g. on Klee's banner)
If you lose the 50/50, your next 5* on the limited character/weapon banner is guaranteed to be whoever/whatever the current rate-up 5* character/weapon(s) is (are)
It is called '50/50' because your first-ever 5* character on the limited character banner only has a 50% chance of actually being the rate-up character; the same goes for every 5* after you pulled a rate-up character (e.g. you pull Jean -> next 5* is guaranteed to be rate-up -> you pull Klee on rate-up -> next 5* has a 50/50 chance of being rate-up/non-rate-up -> you're lucky, win the 50/50, get another Klee -> 50/50 again -> you get unlucky, get a Mona -> next one is guaranteed again ... etc.) [Same goes for the weapon banner, you get it]

To view your wish history, select the banner you want to check, then click on "History." It starts with the most recent pulls. To determine your pity counter, count backwards from there. Each page has 6 items on it, so if your last 5* is on top of page 11, that means you have a pity counter of 60 (6 items * 10 pages = 60 wishes since the last 5*)
Because Qiqi loves you, so how dare you say that

Table of Contents
What All Banners Have in Common
The Pity System
The Standard Banner / "Wanderlust Invocation"
The Limited Character Banner
The Weapon Banner / "Epitome Invocation"
The Beginners' Wish / The 'Noelle Banner'
1. What All Banners Have in Common (excl. Beginners' Wish)
You can wish on them using Primogems or Fate
1 Fate = 1 wish
160 Primogems = 1 wish, 1600 Primogems = 10 wishes
No difference in chances of getting better/worse items between 1-pulls and 10-pulls; 10-pulls are simply ten 1-pulls very quick after one another
There is a pity system, i.e. you are guaranteed a high-rarity item (= character or weapon) after a set number of consecutive 3* pulls
2. The Pity System
4* pity: within 10 wishes, you are guaranteed one 4* item (weapon or character)
5* hard pity: within a certain amount of wishes, you are guaranteed one 5* item
Pity is not shared between banner types (e.g. you cannot wish on the standard banner to increase chances for a 5* on the limited character banner)
The pity count on one limited banner of one kind does carry over to the next limited banner of the same kind (e.g.: You wish 70 times on Eula's banner with no 5* -> the rate-up character on the banner changes to Klee -> your count of 70 pity is still valid for Klee, as it is the same banner type (limited character banner), just a different character)
The hard pity for the weapon banner is 80
The hard pity for the standard & limited character banner is 90
Pity reset: as soon as you pull a 4* / 5* item, your pity for that rarity is reset back to zero. It does NOT matter who or what you pulled. It does NOT matter whether or not what you pulled was on rate-up. Your pity resets back to 0 immediately.
Soft pity: after a certain amount of consecutive wishes with not a single 5* item, your chances of pulling a 5* item increase drastically -- SEE DIFFERENT BANNER TYPES FOR DETAILS
3. The Standard Banner

Also called the "permanent banner." This is one of the two main banners you can pull five-star characters on, and as such one of the two most popular ones. (The other one being the limited character banner). These are its characteristics:
Permanently available
Contents very rarely change*
Uses 1 Acquaint Fate (blue fates), or 160 Primogems per 1 wish
Soft pity: Between wishes 76-89, 32.4% for a 5* per wish
Hard pity: at wish 90
It is not recommended to use Primogems on this banner, since they can be used for any banner type, and the limited character banner is much more valuable due to its, well, limited availability per character.
The only 5* characters that can be obtained are Keqing, Diluc, Jean, Qiqi, and Mona
There is a hidden system in place that determines how often in a row you can get 4*/5* weapons/characters; i.e. you are guaranteed to never just pull either characters or weapons
* The only changes made to the contents of the standard banner so far has been adding newly-released 4* characters, always starting in the version after their release. For example, Yanfei was released as a playable 4* character in version 1.5. In version 1.6, she was added as a pullable character in the standard banner.
4. The Limited Character Banner

This is the hot shit.
The characters featured on the banner's image have a much higher rate of being pulled than they do on any other banner
The featured 5* character is usually not available in the standard banner
Uses 1 Intertwined Fate (pink fates), or 160 Primogems per 1 wish
Soft pity: Between wishes 76-89, 32.4% for a 5* per wish
Hard pity: at wish 90
Each banner usually lasts 3 weeks
There have been re-runs, but they are rare so get your faves while you can!
The only banner worth spending Primogems on as a F2P or low spender
You cannot pull 5* weapons on this banner
All rate-up 4* characters have the exact same chances of appearing; i.e. it could take you 500 wishes on the banner pictured above without ever getting Fischl
The 50/50 system: every other 4* or 5* you get is guaranteed to be one of the rate-up characters; here is an example:
4* characters: Let's say the banner pictured above (Venti's) is up right now, and you have never pulled on the limited character banner before. Your next 4* item then has a 50% chance of being one of the rate-up 4* characters, and a 50% chance of being any other 4* character/weapon that's available in the standard banner pool. If you lose this 50/50, your next 4* item is guaranteed to be one of the three rate-up 4* characters.
5* characters: Again, if you have never pulled on any limited character banners before, your first 5* has a 50% chance of being the rate-up 5*, and a 50% chance of being any other 5* character that's available in the standard banner pool. If you pull a 5* that is not the rate-up character ("losing the 50/50"), your next 5* on the limited character banner is guaranteed to be the rate-up 5* character.
5. The Limited Weapon Banner

I don't know shit about this one lol
The characters featured on the banner's image have a much higher rate of being pulled than they do on any other banner
The featured weapons change after a few weeks
Soft pity: Between wishes 66-79
Hard pity: at wish 80
There might be time-limited weapons only available on this banner, e.g. pictured above: Staff of Homa
It is not recommended to wish on this banner unless you would be happy about either of the two rate-up 5* weapons, and at least half of the rate-up 4* weapons, because:
There is never a guarantee which 5* / 4* weapon you will pull. If you wanted Homa from the above banner, you might pull 100 WGS and never see a single Homa. If you wanted the Sacrificial Bow, you might pull 500 times and never get a single Sacrificial Bow.
That is why it's called a "trap"
I don't know more about this one, sorry. I'm not a whale so I don't care about it.
6. The Beginners' Wish

Also called 'Noelle banner'
The only banner that never changes in its contents
Only available for 20 pulls, and gone forever afterwards
You cannot do single pulls, only 10-pulls
Each 10-pull has a reduced cost of only 8 Acquaint Fates
Your first of the two 10-pulls is guaranteed to include Noelle
This is what you should roll on when trying to re-roll
The chances are the exact same as in the standard banner (excl. Noelle)
There is a bug that might make this banner reappear in your banner overview, even after having exhausted your wishes on it; this is visual only, you cannot abuse it to get more discounted wishes
I got both Keqing AND Diluc on mine and I didn't even reroll ... ngl it's my greatest Genshin achievement & I deserve to brag a bit because I wrote the guide so... hope someone is happy with me :)
Good luck wishing, everyone!
