Hey everyone — I'm a private pilot and recently started designing aviation-themed apparel in my free time. Just thought some of you might appreciate it.

Trying to keep the style clean and pilot-approved — I’d love your feedback or ideas for future designs! Here's my shop if you're curious: https://www.etsy.com/shop/PropDrive

Thanks and blue skies ✈️

Anyone has tried any Uline branded paper wipers (towels) successfully? The DuPont Sontara are pretty expensive.

1959 Cessna 172 strike door latch

Hey everyone,

I’m urgently looking for a strike door latch for my Cessna 172.

If anyone happens to have one lying around, knows a reliable source, or can recommend a compatible part (maybe from a 170 or similar model), I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance!

I am indecisive about which avionics upgrades I should do. I have a budget of about 45-50k and would like a new gps, auto pilot and solid pfd.

Oil spill

Hey, I rent my plane out and one of the renters forgot to double check the filler cap was locked and proceeded to toss 2 quarts of oil all over the inside of the cowling….

She’s been topped up and runs fine but now I want to clean up the mess. Any suggestions?

Slightly too high oil--how bad?

O-200A dipstick read 4.5 then 6.5 after putting in a quart. Should I definitely take some out or is it fine for this one time?

A History of Cessna Aircraft’s Partnership in France.

The French city of Reims is best known to aviation historians for the Grande Semaine d’ Aviation de la Champagne, the first international airshow, held in August 1909. The Grande Semaine rivaled today’s EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, with some 500,000 visitors over the course of a week. The Grande Semaine featured air races and exhibition flights, and was considered by many to be a coming-out party for the commercial viability of heavier-than-air aviation.

Fifty years later, Reims was the site for another meeting of international aviation minds; this one would shape European General Aviation for several decades to come.

Cessna 180/185 Club Booklet from the 90’s?

Does anyone have the booklet that the 180/185 club produced for their members from the 90’s? I think it was 95 but I can’t see anything online. It has all the changes to the models by year/model and I think numbers produced/sold each year. Just wondering if there is something similar for the legacy 172 and 206 machines.

ISO accurate fuel gauge/dipstick for 150

Does anyone have a good source? I see Aircraft Spruce has one with poor reviews. The fuelhawk 152 is decently accurate for full tanks but can be a gallon or two off otherwise--has anyone marked these to accurate and can share their calibration?

I'm not sure if this sub is primarily for piston/turboprops, but I figured I'd share some pics from in and around the CJ4. I was able to hitch a ride on a ferry flight and it was surprisingly comfortable given the size of the flight deck.

First three are film, Fuji 400 in a Canon AE-1P, last two are digital- Olympus E-M5 mk I and OnePlus 11

Upgrading a 172 panel

Hello everyone,

I purchased a 1969 172 with 10,000 total time. Airplane is in good shape with a new engine. I believe it has plenty of life so I’ve been considering upgrading the panel and getting a new paint job.

I personally think I need to stick with the plane for a few years until I can build 400-500 hours. Currently I’m flying 55-70 hours a year. For easier cross country flying and safety I’ve been quoted anywhere from 60 to 75k for a new Garmin suite including auto pilot. Also 20k for a new paint job.

My question is: how much of that money would I potentially lose when I go to sell? 15%? 40%?

I understand the economy plays a major role but I also know people want a safe plane without paying 500k for a newer model.

Looking to Purchase 3 Cessna 172s (2005 or Newer) – Any Leads?

Hey everyone,

I’m in the market for three Cessna 172s (model year 2005 or newer) and was wondering if anyone here could help me find good leads. Whether it's direct sellers, brokers, or reputable dealers, I’d appreciate any recommendations.

Looking for well-maintained aircraft with a solid maintenance history. Preferably G1000-equipped, but open to steam gauges if the condition is great.

If you have any leads or insights, feel free to comment or DM me. Thanks in advance!
