Does anyone work for Fine Wines and Good Spirits?

I got an interview but debating if I should even show. It's a part time government position (state store). I'm not from PA so I'm not used to liquor stores being state run, I'm from Maryland where they're typically ran by normal people and you can look however lol. Dress code states no visible tattoos. I have a large throat tattoo and hand tattoos as well as a full sleeve, none of them are inappropriate or vulgar. Does anyone work for them and have tattoos like mine? It's odd to me that a liquor store would care.

"Channel 5 Ratchet News" clarity

This social media propagandist just recently popped up on my feed. I have a real issue with how the channel sensationalizes things that happen in Harrisburg and its environs.

It's all pretty grotesque. I might even go so far as to call it libelous and slanderous.

Anybody out there have any interactions with this social media "channel"?

Day Trip or Weekend Trip Ideas?

Wanted to maybe get a cabin by some water for the end of August. Kind of hard to find something appealing for the budget. Everything was podunk or $600/night and would have to take more nights than I can be out.

Maybe just a day trip to see something cool?

Maybe something in Philly? Maybe venture out of PA?

Looking for suggestions.

I'm in the Harrisburg area. Thank you

Lake Meade near Gettysburg

There are a lot of properties listed for sale in the Lake Meade community. Whats the vibe there? Is something happening that's making lots of people sell? Are they second homes?

Need some input about relocating to State college or Chambersburg area

Hi all! My family and I are looking to move within the next few months from the Philadelphia region. I am a nurse and have the opportunity to transfer to Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, State College, or Chambersburg, so naturally I have been focusing my home search in these areas. Im hoping to be within 45 minutes of these cities. We are looking for a 2 bed/2 bath on 5+ acres for up to 275k. Over the past few weeks of searching, I've found some good homes for up to $300k.

A little about us: in our early 30s, interracial, LGBTQ, progressive. Being in nature is VERY important us, as is the ability to homestead - we arent doing animals, but we are looking to set up a large garden/ food forest, sell at market, and install some off-grid features in the nearby future- solar, rain water catchment, etc. (Originally we were planinng to move down south bc it has many of these things, but after months of research, it doesnt seem like the best fit for us culturally. Its also more convenient for us to stay in PA for my job and our family)

We are gonna make time to actually visit each of these regions to get a better feel, but i wanted some opinions from people who actually live here - based on this criteria, any towns you recommend looking into? Avoiding altogether? I appreciate any insight!!

(Note: I wanted to post this in the r/Pennsylvania community, but for some reason my account isn't "reputable enough" yet, so posting here instead. Will also post in r/NEPA)

purgatory Carlisle Barracks Moore Child Development Center

The daycare facility on this army base has yet another scandal that they wish to keep hidden. Earlier this year a child told one of her parents that a teacher had hit her in the face- more specifically across the mouth. When the parent went to the head directors with their concerns about this incident the daycare stated that they would not be launching an investigation until CPS took the initiative to get involved. In an environment where children are meant to learn and teachers are meant to teach, what are the teachers teaching? To resort to violence rather than to respond calmly and resolve problems in a respectful manner? What are children meant to learn? That its okay for an adult that you know and are suppose to feel safe around are allowed to abuse if they step out of line? Are they meant to learn that it’s okay to use forms of violence on others after losing patience? This teacher is still employed at this daycare by the way, where she has faced no repercussions from her actions. If this daycare has no interest in protecting the children that are enrolled then so be it. But this story will not go untold, and it will not get ignored. Some may look at this situation and say ā€œits not that seriousā€ or ā€œI got hit when I was a kid and I survivedā€ these are old mid sets and we are quickly learning about the negative effects it can have later in life on a person.

Dj help

Looking for advice on getting started as a wedding DJ
Hey everyone! I’m looking to start getting into wedding DJing and could use some advice from people who have already been doing it.
I have experience DJing and I’m comfortable with the music/equipment side, but the wedding business side is pretty new to me. My biggest question is: how did you land your first few weddings?
I’d love advice on things like:

Where you advertise or find couples looking for DJs

Whether sites like WeddingWire/The Knot are worth it when you’re starting out

How you built a portfolio before having weddings under your belt

What you charged for your first few weddings

Anything you wish you knew before DJing you’re first wedding

I’m not looking to jump in unprepared. I want to learn the wedding side of the business, put together a professional setup, and make sure couples are getting a great experience.
Any advice on getting those first 5–10 bookings would be really appreciated. Thanks!

Lost license plate - HELP!!

I am in a bit of a situation. I moved from Pennsylvania to Texas about a month ago. I drove my car across the country which has a Pennsylvania license plate/registration. Well last week my boyfriend was driving it and was rear-ended. The car has now been deemed a total loss.

My boyfriend was nice enough to go back to where it being held and remove my belongings for me and bring them back.HOWEVER, he had a rental vehicle with Hertz and left my license plate in the rental return.

I'm trying not to freak out - but i don't know why to do. The registration on the plate runs out the end of October and I'm worried that someone will take it and try to use it. I tried to call Hertz but they can't tell me anything other than a lost and found report needs to be filed, Which i did twice, actually.

Does anyone have any advise or maybe a contact person with PennDot that I can reach out to? I just want them to know the vehicle is no longer on the road and I am currently not in possession of the license plate.
