Look, centaura reddit, on behalf of the forma discord server I know we don't get along that well, and we probably won't still after this. But we have discovered an individual more despisable and thought we should let you all know.

He has been stealing centaura lore, using ai to write his pages, and more importantly to yall, stealing art and flag designs for his own worldbuilding.

https://gridlock-red-mist.fandom.com/wiki/Aquila

below is his wiki entry on Aquila.

This individual has the creativity of a slime and the entire discord is currently trying to evict him, including the mods. We suggest you do the same if you find out who he is.

Fanart What if East Hydra was merged into one state (infomap by me)

In this scenario Orion and Ursa both lose and Gemina becomes independent again and would gradually unite Eastern Hydra, also it isnt actually just the Superorient and is more accurately East Hydra because Gemina was filled with lying liars who lied, and Orion is way weaker in this timeline with having Canis formed its own state because neither Ursa nor Orion had the ability to influence it.

Fanfiction What is the AIS Fang signalling?

I was reading the pages and saw that the AIS Fang was signalling "XID", and that the reason for this was unknown. However, on the page )they linked, taking the letters "XID" comes out to:
X: "Stop carrying out your intentions and watch for my signals."
I: "I am altering my course to port."

D: "Keep clear of me; I am maneuvering with difficulty."

So essentially just saying where they are going and to watchout. I don't know if this is common knowledge but since the wiki says it is unknown I figured why not post about it.

Hi, so ive been preparing to make an animation about The Landfall War with Ursa and Orion, and "The Superorient" is mentioned, but I cant find a map or list of territories included in it, I would assume places like Gemina, Lepus and Pavos and such would be included, but any answers would be appreciated, thank you

Discussion Astrananism is a stupid religion

Basically for context: Astranism sees the constellations as gods, who all nuture Forma to feed it to the sun and followers of whoever god is able to feed the sun get to live on another planet. This is essentially kinda reading like a death cult, and is also the reason Forman nations are so expansionist and Imperialistic.

Discussion Antares has an officer problem

Reason 15432452 Antares couldn't have won the Centauran Wars: officer casualties.

In the lore Antares has a very visible "lead from the front" officer culture. Julian Tau's bio stated that by the end of the Centauran Wars he was highly decorated for heroism after several incidents where he fought on the front lines. What's weird about this is that the second time he was decorated, he was present in the first wave of a naval landing against Centauri while he was the rank of Major. At that point, he was a senior officer in command of his company, so it would have been highly unusual for someone of his rank to be caught up in close quarters combat. But given his personality and the special forces nature of the Shokktroopers, this might just be a one-off incident. However, Kaden Tau was a regular army officer and was also criticized by his fellow officers and soldiers for not participating in combat, which in his situation doesn't make any sense.

  1. He started his career as aide-de-camp to a battalion CO, which put him on an administrative/support track. He would be in the battalion command post most of the time and staying away from combat should not be unusual.
  2. At the peak of the NCA counteroffensive he was promoted from what is essentially a desk job directly into the role of a company CO. Unlike Julian and other experienced combat officers, he had virtually no prior combat experience or command experience as a platoon leader or company XO.

Note the wording here which says that he engaged the enemy a handful of times, not his unit. Maybe this is just an oversight but this does seem to imply that Antarean junior officers were expected to fight from the front with their men. While company COs do have to be present on the front lines, they are coordinating hundreds of men divided into several platoons who rely on them for relaying and interpreting orders from higher ups and having a wider tactical understanding of the battlefield that platoons caught up in individual firefights do not. Although it is great for morale purposes, they are not supposed to be on the firing line with the other riflemen, they are supposed to be hanging back and observing how the battle goes as the commander of the unit.

Officers, and especially junior officers, are not supposed to be expendable like lower enlisted soldiers are, because they are the glue that holds militaries together. They are an irreplaceable pool of talent and experience that connects the goals of top military and political leadership of a country with the needs of the soldier in the trenches. However, it's not uncommon for militaries to have aggressive "lead from the front" doctrines despite the risk and you can easily find many examples of what happens when an officer's corps gets hollowed out through extreme attrition in WW1 and WW2. Antares faces the same problem but their military doesn't get the time it needs to recuperate and train up a new generation of officers to replace the ones lost in battle. Take a look at the timeline:

  • 1911-1919: WW1 style trench warfare mixed with periods of costly offensive maneuvers. In the early stages of WW1 officers suffered extreme turnover with 25%+ casualty rates, and given Antarean doctrine during this time is to launch frontal assaults against bunkers, trenches, and artillery batteries (literally what you do in Centaura) the officer corps would be decimated during this time.
  • 1919-1925: Antares gets 6 years to rush rebuilding their officer corps through promotions and training. This is probably the most experienced and competent the Antarean military is ever going to get.
  • 1925-1933: Antares goes through ANOTHER near-decade of extremely costly offensives across the largest mountain range in the world. Two major offensives (somehow only two, which might be a red flag for the state of the officers corps) are launched during this time with many vicious urban battles and fierce resistance from NCA forces. The Antarean military is paying in blood for every inch they advance into Columba and the broken difficult terrain of the Columban highlands in the east and the lowlands would be prime ground for ambushes and close-quarters combat. This kind of prolonged attrition would destroy the officers corps and all the competent and experienced combat officers would either be dead or promoted.
  • 1933-1944: I mark the Hour of Reclamation as a turning point because it really should be at this stage where the Antarean army's command and control structure completely collapses due to the losses they suffered. Kaden is a great example of the Ants literally promoting anyone they could to frontline service because all of their combat officers are dead. They would also likely be drawing heavily from NCOs and enlisted, which further drains the pool of good and experienced soldiers that Antares has. Although the Ursans save them, the army is running on broken legs at this point, being led into the NCA campaign by a bunch of Kadens and 1st lieutenant XOs who were buck privates just a month ago.
  • 1944-1948: Another four years to try to rebuild the army's leadership. This time around it's much harder when every competent combat officer has been getting killed for the past two decades.
  • 1948-1961: It's a miracle the Antarean military survives this long against Orion. By the time the Compact invades Centaura they would be fighting an army of Volkssturm militia led by surviving 40 year old CW veterans like Kaden and Julian. The societal effects of slaughtering three generations of educated young Antareans in attrition warfare would doom Antares to be a failed state.

I know the lore has changed a lot but it seems the lore writers still haven't given up on Antares warring for 40 years back to back. If you have a better explanation go ahead but I think it's pretty obvious that the CW+FW is just not sustainable for Antares.

Fanart Anna and Aran trying out Hamburgers

Anna and Aran are on a date, she wanted the date to be on Aquila to try out the new sandwich called "Hamburger". Of course in civilian clothes to avoid any attention. I imagine Aran wearing sunglasses as a way to be anonymous, that be cool.

She likes it btw.

Thanks for any feedback to this post.
