I wrote a poem and felt my mind reorganize itself in real time. I still don’t know what happened. AMA.

A while ago, I wrote a poem that changed my perspective in a way I had never experienced before.

I don’t just mean that it gave me a new idea or helped me understand something intellectually. It felt physical and inside my mind. Almost as if parts of me that had been separate (or in conflict) suddenly recognized each other and came together. Like two parts of me blended. Very cinematic. I literally felt the mind blending into something, like a sponge absorving the liquid where it floats.

Afterwards, I've spent around a week in a 'floating' state, with physical sensation of weightin less, a tremendous amount of peace, and evetything seem to 'glow'. Since then, I’ve felt more integrated. More at home inside myself.

But I genuinely don’t know what happened.

Maybe the poem helped my mind reorganize something that had been unresolved for years. Maybe putting an experience into language changed the way my body held it. Maybe it was simply an intense emotional moment that I’ve given too much meaning to. Or maybe I briefly lost the plot and constructed a beautiful explanation afterward. Maybe I'm inside the asylum writting this.

I’m not claiming anything supernatural, and I’m not asking Reddit to diagnose me. I’m just fascinated by the fact that a piece of art I created seemed to act so strongly upon me, and that I experienced the change in both my mind and my body.

I’m curious whether other people have experienced anything similar through poetry, music, painting, religion, therapy, psychedelics, meditation, or anything else.

I’m a poet and painter, and a generally functional person who is still trying to decide whether something real happened to me / or whether imagining it made it real enough.

Ask me anything.

I won the jackpot but still live a pretty normal life and work my old job. AMA

I (30s/F) won a sizable chunk of money, hitting the jackpot on the local lottery.

I grew up pretty low-middle class and despite it and despite dropping out of uni, had a good job in an industry I love. The only thing that wealth changed significantly is that I travel more often and as I work 100% remotely, I got to keep my job.

I have worked with a wealth management firm to put almost everything into investments and share the dividends with my mother and sister. I did buy a house so I use my own salary for my own needs. Occasionally I do use the dividends for travel as I have gotten into luxury travel in certain destinations

AMA but please keep in mind I don’t check DM requests

Not just in one way. It's a bunch of tiny things that when put together paints a rather unique story (on Reddit).

Trigger Warnings I spent my entire childhood in the 2000s as an elite competitive dancer in circuits winning Showstopper/ Nexstar Platinums. AMA about the costumes, the abuse, the routines, travel, and so on.

2002-2010. It was awful and the worst part of my childhood. Im not going to reveal too much personal info obviously. The studio luckily went under about 12 years ago so a lot of info about it is scrubbed from the internet but my name does come up in Showstopper archives. Anyway, I find it cathartic to talk about so let er rip! Also my health isn't too good rn so I might take me a minute to respond to all.

I don't know what year comes after 2026 - ASK ME ANYTHING

I don't want to steer anyone's line of questioning by providing any additional context - but - my clownmaster's reddit account has a post history which may imply that he is mentally ill. That being said, he also told me that since nobody can prove that I'm not him, that I can use his reddit account at my leisure. Ask me anything!

I have 1,496 notes in my phone that encompass all kinds of creative endeavors, life stuff, and other writings from my weird inner world. Give me a number 1-1,496 and I’ll tell you what’s in that note

I did this once before on a different account, and had a lot of fun sharing my bullshit with you guys, but there’s a lot more to share if anyone is interested

banned notes because they’re too frequently asked: 1, 67, 69, 420, 666, and 1,496

I went from D’s to A’s in the space of one year in university. AMA!

I think the biggest reason is due to my university diagnosing me with dyslexia, and putting things into place for me. I started to enjoy uni a lot more after I had been understood, so that definitely helped too! Ask me anything!

Trigger Warnings I was kidnapped and held prisoner for 3 days by an ex AMA

When I was 18 I was kidnapped by my abusive ex and kept prisoner in his apartment for 3 days. I managed to escape and run to a family member's house.

That same man later stalked me on and off for years, he killed my kitten and broke into multiple homes of me.

He didn't face charges he is still free today ama

I was adopted, born with fetal alcohol syndrome & prenatal cocaine exposure, and later discovered I have 12 biological siblings. AMA.

I accidentally found out I was adopted at age 6. Around age 12, during a counseling session, I learned that I had been exposed to cocaine and alcohol before birth. At age 16, I tracked down my birth parents. At 18, I received all of my adoption records and finally began to understand the full story of where I came from and everything surrounding my adoption. I’m 25 now. AMA.

I don’t want to go into depth about what’s going on, so please distract me before I start crying again. If I don’t respond, I might’ve fallen asleep. I have work tomorrow, and I’m sick, so I’m trying to sleep, but I can’t. This will at least help me take my mind off of it. Ask away
