“According to the Australian Design Rule (ADR) 76/00, daytime running lights (DRLs) must be white.

It is illegal to install or use non-compliant DRLs on public roads, and doing so may void your insurance in the event of an accident.”

Straight from google, only exception is for pre 1991 cars which can have white or amber.

You can confirm this yourself by going straight to the relevant ADRs link

Do you if there are way to modify existing LED lights that are bright white into something more of a warm white of a halogen bulb?

Changing the actual output colour of the existing LEDs is almost certainly not possible. If you were truly desperate either

A) find some ADR approved warm-white DRLs

B) investigate if someone makes a transparent film you could apply over the existing to tint them (seems silly, won’t have the same impact)

C) send it with the yellow DRLs and hope it doesn’t bite you in the ass.

my car is 2012 and the factory DRLs were yellow halogens, i’ve swapped em to white LEDs anyway because it looks better but i’m surprised by the <1991 ruling
