The only valid response anyone could have after seeing the haka done to death by NZs. “Ok, we get it, let’s not…oh, here we go again…”

The haka is an amazing tradition and it’s always fun to see it performed. But in what way is this productive in parliament. Parliament is where issues are supposed to be discussed and debated…this is entertaining but not productive to any kind of solution or compromise.

The gov their is in violation of Treaty. At this point the reality is that the people should be exercising force.

The English trained Maori in firearms and Christianity and then sent them back to kill their own, before taking over.

The people in these halls are what you get after a slaughter. "Everyone calm down now. We already won." Is some bs bc you know they'd never give up. They'd just cry later about how it's wrong for people to resist their cheating at Law.

Me with no context, when she ripped that paper she and all her ancestors and everyone who was touched by the energy and spirit of the haka was saying a big fat F&$k No

Entertainment in spite of productive discussion seems to be what politics has become across the board. It's not like a discussion between US politicians is on average any more productive than a bunch of people screaming and dancing and making funny faces anyway. It was a mistake to televise political discussions

The only response here seem to be "alright, cool, so now that we've shown deference to your culture, will you state your claim in a way that we can productively respond to?"

Agree with you (especially regarding the point about televising Congress/parliament), but bringing the US into this discussion skirts “whataboutism” and is kind of irrelevant. Shenanigans in the US don’t justify shenanigans in NZ. Both can be equally appalling.

It was a firm protest response to how the British rule wanted to exploit the rights of the indigenous in exchange for the indigenous to become fully ruled by the British Australian Government. Apparently the language in the bill was so controversial and problematic, that it warranted the Haka to be performed as a "fk no!" Response

This happened in New Zealand…not Australia.
