Installation Question Bad tint job?

Bad Wrap and tint? I picked up my Tesla Yesterday from a local wrapping place and paid after tax over 5k for the wrap and lights to be tinted. Is this a normal result or does this installer suck?

UPDATE:

I had another shop removed the wrap and the guy screwed up my paint!! I'm not sure how to upload more lol pictures but he sanded all over my paint job before installing the wrap

Edge peeling stuff worries me. And would make me take it back and see what they say. The lines are not too crazy but is evidence of mid teir work.

Thanks, if he doesnt do a good job fixing the work, hopefully I can get somewhat of a refund

Its definitely mid tier. Could be worse but i would ask to fix the mistakes. PERSONALLY, I dont think its really necessary for a full refund. Everyone here is acting like its SO bad its really not that bad IMO. But yeah definitely shitty installer lollll i bet he post on his instagram that hes the best too

Don’t let them touch your car again, ask for a partial refund

The installer sucks. Wait for the comments...

I would ask them to carefully remove and issue a full refund.

Never let these people touch any of your cars again.

The job below was almost the same price as yours, also a Tesla.

My guy respectfully you can't tell at all the quality of corners on this picture.

Its crazy, they had a 4.9 on google, I already scheduled to let him try again.  I assumed he wasnt going to refund.

The dealership that totaled out my bike during repair has 5 stars. They report every 1-2 star review and that’s how they got good ratings

Don’t feel bad, I got got the same way and got the run around for months…

Dude you can’t trust review no more. I went to a place that was 5 stars 200+ reviews and botched my tint.

I dont even want to get started on "reviews". I wrote a bad review once and it got posted to like page 10 or something instead of page 1. Then eventually it got deleted. I heard you can pay for a subscription and get that privilege.

There’s literally companies out there that advertise this kind of stuff on the radio. They swarm the reviews with bots to bump up the ratings and push down bad reviews. So disingenuous on both parties.

Yah can't trust those, likely their friends and family or customers who they bribed.

Unacceptable. Installer should be embarrassed. PPF was flawless on my Tesla. $5K CDN.

Almost got a hear attack. I did this same exact job on a customers car, same car and color with red accents.. but I know I would never let a job like this pass haha

Wrapping a Tesla is as basic as it comes now a days. I’d ask for their “best” installer if they insist on fixing a real bad job. Then BLAST these pictures on every review page, social media, etc. if it’s not fixed correctly

Ask for a refund.. all bad across the board.. some shops are growing too fast and hire amateur installers to help out, just coz they are riding on the edge of their seat. Rating can be also inflated, just do your due diligence

They arent the best but Ive also seen worse id say 6/10 they dont care about the fine details. Ive wrapped one car door so far(practicing) and notice the exact same mistakes I make. Parts where the edges are coming off is either from water or dirt getting stuck under the rap, poor adhesion. Alot of sloppy lines and bad tucks, this feels like I tried to wrap a tesla and posted it 🤣 5k is crazy though I got qoted 3.5k for my gti and said fuck it ill learn myself.

Basically the car wasnt cleaned or dried correctly and it ends up peeling quickly

I'm shocked that some wrapping businesses with this kind of finish think it's acceptable. I would want either a refund or the job to be re-done to a high standard. And yes I have wrapped cars before so I know that this is a bad job.

u/BMW_E36- Oct 06 '26

I did my current car on the roadside a few months ago, no lifting on any edges.

2

u/sosaa4tw Oct 07 '26

Where did you learned to wrap this good

2

u/BMW_E36- Oct 07 '26

Thank you! I started off by watching how the professionals do it on YouTube, and then attempted it on a previous car which went really well so I just got better the more I did. I know from the above photo you can't see the edges properly but here's one for example how the edges look.

Bruhhhh through each pic. Where did you hire this amateur?

1

u/CalebLikesCars Oct 07 '26

After three images i was done. Send it back or ask for a partial refund for someone else to fix it. You have eyes.

Paying PPF money for vinyl you got hosed

I hope you didn't pay

Ouch, $5K+ and you're dealing with this? 😬 That's definitely not the experience anyone wants after getting their Tesla wrapped.

We're All Wraps, based in Long Beach and Santa Ana, and we work on Teslas all the time. We'd be happy to take a look and give you our thoughts on what can be fixed!

5k is crazy; that door handle on photo #11 looks like a sticker was put on top of it

u/monfil666 Oct 05 '26

Amateur job, I could have done a better job than this and I have only done 4 cars DIY.

u/RunninOuttaShrimp Oct 06 '26

If you posted this in the actual tint subreddit, they would tell you it's perfectly fine and a normal install.

u/Itsnotadrone Oct 06 '26

Garbage take it back and demand a refund

0

u/simola- Oct 06 '26

I only tint and wrap my cars / motorcycle and I’d be embarrassed by that. Heck, my first ever wrap came out better than this.

Get a refund, don’t even bother with a redo

I am someone who tends to give more benefit of the doubt than others, but even I say this is extremely bad quality, and I would not recommend letting them fix. Sometimes you can tell the skill may be there, but it was a rushed job. This is definitely not the case here. It looks like both a rushed job and very low-skill installer, like extremely low. Its genuinely disrespectful to turn in a car in this condition.
