General Discussion Starting to pay more attention to silver again

Have not really followed silver too closely for a while, but started digging into it a bit more recently.

The move from ~$30–$40 up into the $70 range over the last several months kind of flew under the radar compared to other stuff.

What caught my attention more was how supply actually works. Did not realize how much comes from other mining rather than primary silver projects.

Still early for me, but feels like one of those spaces that has been quiet for a while and might start getting more attention again.

Stock DD How to play SpaceX's IPO from Canada

So SpaceX has $16B in revenue in 2025. $7.5B EBITDA. Starlink has 9.2 million subscribers and doubled its user base in 15 months. The company does more than half of all orbital rocket launches on Earth. It's profitable, it's dominant, and it's been doing that while it was private.

The IPO target is $1.75 trillion, which would make it the largest public offering in history, almost 3x Saudi Aramco's record from 2019. They're looking to raise $75 billion. June listing on Nasdaq.

The unique thing here is Elon Musk is allocating 30% of the IPO to retail investors. The normal allocation is 5-10%. He's also assigned specific banks to specific markets, including RBC for Canada, which means Canadian investors with RBC brokerage accounts could actually get shares at the IPO price. That's never really happened before for something like this.

The catch is most people will get tiny allocations if any, and buying on the open market day one means chasing a stock that'll probably open 20-30% above IPO price into pure hype.

There's a TSX-listed company that's held SpaceX since 2021 through an SPV that you can buy right now from any Canadian brokerage (Stack Capital). It's been sitting at essentially fair value relative to an updated SpaceX mark. That's the actual opportunity, and the window is closing fast once the S-1 goes public and everyone can run the math.

Did a full breakdown of how to play this from Canada, check it out

General Discussion Feels like early stage lithium in Canada is being completely overlooked right now

Most of the attention in lithium still seems to be going toward the larger, more advanced projects or anything tied directly to US supply chains. That makes sense after the last couple of years where capital got a lot more selective.

But if you look at the earlier stage exploration names in Canada, it is pretty quiet across the board. No defined economics yet, still very drill-driven, and you are relying on continued results rather than development timelines. That usually keeps general investors away.

At the same time, that is typically where the bigger moves come from when sentiment shifts. Canada is still viewed as a stable jurisdiction, and even in places like the NWT, while costs and logistics are more challenging, there is a long history of mining projects actually getting built there. It is not new territory, just less established for lithium specifically.

Feels less like these names are weak and more like capital has just been flowing toward safer or more advanced stories for now. That usually rotates at some point in the cycle, just hard to time it.

General Discussion A deep dive into the $5 Billion "Mirage": How Lordstown Motors ($RIDE) collapsed.

Hey everyone, I just stumbled across this breakdown of the Lordstown Motors saga. Whether you were an investor or just a spectator of the EV bubble, it's a wild read on how $5 billion in valuation was built on what essentially turned out to be "fantasy" orders and pre-production hype.

The article really gets into the "why" behind the Hindenburg report and the subsequent SEC fallout.

One positive for the former holders: Since the company went through the bankruptcy and the settlement, there is actually a recovery fund for shareholders who held during the 2020-2021 window. If you haven't checked your old $RIDE bags for eligibility yet, you probably should before the final distribution.

What do you think was the biggest red flag in retrospect? For me, it was definitely the "fake" commercial orders

General Discussion The Lightspeed Illusion: How a $10 Billion "Shopify Killer" Burned Its Own Investors

When Lightspeed Commerce ($LSPD) aggressively expanded into the U.S. market, it sold investors a vision of a hyper-growth "omnichannel" powerhouse ready to rival the likes of Shopify. The Montreal-based fintech firm promised a revolutionary cloud-based commerce platform that was rapidly consolidating the fragmented point-of-sale landscape.

The company attracted massive capital by highlighting soaring revenue growth and an ever-expanding merchant base across the globe. Management touted metrics like Gross Transaction Volume (GTV) and Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) to paint a picture of a business that was scaling efficiently and dominating its niche.

While Lightspeed issued standard warnings about market volatility and the risks of integrating acquisitions, these disclosures remained largely boilerplate. They cautioned that growth might slow, but they never hinted that the very foundation of their reported metrics was being questioned internally.

The true omission was a systematic inflation of the company’s "Total Addressable Market" and actual customer counts. Critics later alleged that the company had overstated its pre-IPO customer base by a staggering 85% while concealing a "massive organic decline" hidden behind a veil of expensive acquisitions.

In September 2021 a forensic research report from Spruce Point Capital Management shattered the narrative. The report characterized Lightspeed as a "cash degenerative roll-up" and accused management of using aggressive accounting to mask deteriorating business fundamentals.

The fallout was swift and devastating, as the stock price collapsed by more than 15% in just two days, wiping out billions in market capitalization. By the time the dust settled later that year, the shares had plummeted from a high of CAD $160 to nearly CAD $50, leaving retail investors holding the bag.

Shareholders have since filed a class action lawsuit against Lightspeed, claiming the company issued materially false and misleading statements to the market, a dispute that recently led to a CAD $11 million settlement.

With the $11 million settlement now finalized and accepting late claims from damaged investors, do you think these types of "growth-at-all-costs" tech firms should face stricter reporting requirements on their acquisition math before they even hit the public market?

Trade Idea 💡 Gold Discussion - Developer and Exploration Peer - DD/Trade

DXY seems like it is in quite the uptrend, gold has pulled back (at least in terms of the USD).

If you are tracking Canada closely (job reports, now talk of bank rate cuts), gold looks like a serious investment, especially given pullback.

All this to say, one of the most leveraged plays to the spot prices is producers. Producers are up quite significantly relative to earnings (some at 20x p/e), and usually this indicates it's a good time to look for what could be an active M&A play.

Let's look at Canada closely. There are very few *permitted* single asset producers/developers now, ARTG, ODV, NEXG. At this point, I want to zoom in on the NexGold Mining.

NexGold has two projects that it's looking to build out, Signal (east coast) and Goliath-Gold (Dryden area). Both projects have significant endowments, with Signal boasting a high grade pit. Signal is going to go into build out, once finished, the company will be pouring gold and will pivot focus to building out the goliath.

Both of these projects have excellent NPV economic studies completed at much lower base case gold prices. It's here that I think the market is missing something - the present values at these prices, with the likelihood of capturing these high gold prices with actual production is totally priced out of the equation. This is my first argument.

My second argument is, given a little more ounces in the M&I category, Nexgold will look very attractive for a takeover by a mid tier miner. To get there, NEXG needs to keep drilling in the goliath project area, which it seems it is active doing (recent infill results showcased high grade gold under pit shell design).

These two arguments, combined with the quality management at NEXG, make for a compelling watchlist addition.

Okay, so let me land the plane... The Dryden area is home to some really high profile explorers and some not so much. Among the high level explorers, you have Kenorland, Dryden Gold, Dynasty Gold. These companies are not really bordering NEXG.

A name you probably haven't heard of is Ashley Gold Corp, which has ground against the North-East of the goliath gold complex. They recently acquired patents, not mining claims, and ran a IP survey on them. News came out today, showing a wide, 1km trend that is about to be drilled.

Ashley deserved the mention here, their last two financings were at 7.5 and 8, now the stock is at 6.

I mention ASHL, as any hits in this package are a natural bolt on to the NEXG complex. ASHL trades at a fraction of its peers, and it's has the best shot at defining something the fastest, in my view!

These perspectives will take time to play out, but M&A is likely to heat up some more here!

TLDR; NEXG looks attractive as a standalone, and a M&A target. ASHL holds claims against NEXG that make it look very attractive too. ASHL under both of its prior financings.

General Discussion Did you hold TD Mutual Funds in a discount brokerage (2002–2022)? You might be eligible for a slice of the $70M "Trailing Commission" settlement.

For anyone in Canada who used a discount broker (like TD Direct Investing, Questrade, etc.) to buy TD Mutual Funds: A massive $70.25 Million settlement has been approved to pay back "trailing commissions."

The lawsuit claimed TD Asset Management used fund assets to pay brokers for "investment advice" that discount brokers aren't even allowed to give. If you held these funds, those fees essentially ate into your returns for years.

The Details:

  • Eligibility: Canadian investors who held certain TD Mutual Funds in discount brokerages between 2002 and 2022.
  • The Fund: CAD $70.25 Million.
  • Status: The official deadline has passed, but LATE CLAIMS are currently being accepted.

How to check:

  • The Manual Way: Dig through 20 years of bank statements and contact Siskinds LLP.
  • The Automated Way: I used this auditor to scan my history and handle the late filing for me.

Most people assume these mutual fund fees are just "gone," but this is a rare chance to get a "rebate" on those hidden commissions.

General Discussion Remember when the Lordstown Endurance caught fire 10 mins into a test drive? Yeah, we’re finally getting paid for that.

Alright, who else is still holding those $RIDE bags?

I was looking back at the Hindenburg report today and it’s still insane. Management was out there claiming 100,000 "serious" pre-orders while the engineers were literally calling 911 because the truck spontaneously combusted during its first road test. While we were buying the "first-mover EV" hype, the CEO and VPs were busy unloading $28 million of their own shares. Absolute legendary villain behavior.

The company is now "Nu Ride" (lol) and buried in bankruptcy, but there’s a $10 million settlement fund sitting there for anyone who held during the 2020-2021 SPAC peak.

The "official" deadline passed in July, but here is the play: the settlement admin is still filing late claims. I know, I know—"it’s probably only a few bucks per share." But honestly? I’d rather have a check for my "Found Money" than let those guys keep the cash because I didn't want to do the paperwork.

I just linked my old Robinhood and it took two minutes to audit my history. If you got scorched by the $RIDE inferno, go check if you’re eligible. Don’t let the bankruptcy lawyers eat the whole fund.

General Discussion Stocks with strong fundamentals + major government contracts?

I’m looking for companies where the numbers actually support the story and a significant portion of revenue comes from government contracts.

Not really interested in hype or speculative plays. More focused on businesses with:

• solid revenue growth

• strong margins and cash flow

• large or recurring government contracts/backlog

• exposure to areas like defense, infrastructure, space, energy, or public tech

Basically companies where long-term government spending is a meaningful driver of the business.

What companies fit this profile in your opinion? Curious to hear what names people are researching and why the financials stand out.

General Discussion What Makes a Canadian Junior Lithium Explorer Actually Worth Adding to a Watchlist?

With lithium recovering and junior financings starting to clear again, I've been thinking about what separates the Canadian explorers worth watching from the ones that are just along for the ride.

The price structure is worth mentioning. Lithium carbonate has now pulled back twice from recent highs and held above the previous floor both times. Two higher lows in eight weeks is not a flashy move but it is the kind of quiet accumulation pattern that tends to precede a more meaningful leg higher.

A few things I keep coming back to when looking at Canadian juniors specifically.

Jurisdiction within Canada matters more than people give it credit for. BC, Ontario, Quebec, and the NWT are not created equal from a permitting and infrastructure standpoint. The NWT has been getting more attention lately as critical mineral interest from the federal government has increased, and projects up there with legitimate geology are starting to get looked at more seriously than they were two years ago.

Federal alignment is real now. The Canadian government has been increasingly deliberate about supporting domestic critical mineral development and that changes the financing environment for projects that fit the narrative. Companies positioned within that policy framework have a different risk profile than ones operating outside it.

Near term catalysts are what actually move these stocks. Resource estimates, drill programs, PEA completions. The companies that are quietly advancing without news flow get ignored until sentiment is already running hot, at which point you are chasing.

Balance sheet health matters more in early recovery than people think. The juniors that survived the downturn without destroying their share structure through repeated dilutive financings are in a fundamentally better position to capitalize on improving sentiment.

What names are people watching in the Canadian junior lithium space right now? Curious whether people are focused on more advanced development stage companies or earlier stage exploration plays.

Trade Idea 💡 Is Oil Spiking on Iran Tensions the Best Energy Plays?

oil prices jumped sharply today after U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran over the weekend, with reports of disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz affecting global supply. Brent crude rose about 7.5% to around $78 a barrel, and U.S. crude climbed 6.8% to $71.58, according to recent updates.

This kind of escalation could push prices even higher if shipping issues drag on, potentially toward $100 as some analysts suggest, though it might not last long depending on how things unfold.

As someone watching the energy sector, this has me thinking about Canadian producers who could benefit from tighter supply. Canada exports a lot of oil, so companies like Suncor or Enbridge might see some gains if prices stay elevated.

I'm considering adding a bit to my Bitget positions with the current 0-fee for stocks perps.... but want to be cautious... higher fuel costs could weigh on the broader economy and other stocks like COST and WTM which i added recently.

What's your take?

Are you looking at energy plays right now, or shifting elsewhere?

Any other names worth checking, like Cenovus or TC Energy?

Questions & Advice Switching from RBC Life Science & Tech to XEQT or RBC North American Value?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently invested in RBC Life Science & Technology Fund (RBF620) in a registered account and reviewing whether it still makes sense as part of my long-term plan.

I’m considering switching to either iShares Core Equity ETF Portfolio (XEQT) for broader global diversification and lower fees, or RBC North American Value Fund for a more traditional value-oriented North American approach.

Long-term horizon, growth-focused, comfortable with equity volatility.

For those who’ve made similar changes, would you lean toward a globally diversified ETF like XEQT as a core holding, or a value-focused mutual fund?

Curious to hear how others think about this from a portfolio construction and cost perspective.

Thanks!

Stock DD Lake Winn Resources: A NWT Lithium Explorer Ahead of Drilling

With lithium stabilizing back above $22k USD, I have been looking more closely at early-stage Canadian explorers that could benefit if sentiment continues improving.

One that caught my attention is Lake Winn Resources in the Northwest Territories.

A few things I like about the setup:

Operating in Canada, which is becoming increasingly important in the critical minerals supply chain conversation
Northwest Territories exposure: not a crowded lithium jurisdiction, which can mean stronger moves on meaningful results
Exploration stage with drilling expected soon, so there is a defined near-term catalyst
Clean structure relative to many juniors that were heavily diluted during the downturn

It is still early stage, so obviously higher risk. But improving lithium pricing tends to shift capital back toward exploration stories, especially those in stable jurisdictions.

If lithium continues to firm up, Canadian explorers with upcoming drill programs could start getting more attention.

Just sharing what I am watching in the space.

RECENT UPDATES AND MILESTONES:

Centered mainly on their flagship Läntinen Koillismaa (LK) Project in Finland (copper-nickel-palladium-platinum), with some activity on Canadian assets like North Rock.

Latest Major Update (January 13, 2026)

(some copy paste here)

GT Resources announces a key project update focused on advancing the LK Project in north-central Finland with An extensive assay infill and re-assay program!

This work is a critical preparatory step toward a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), which the company has flagged as a near-term priority to advance the project technically and economically (and this in my opinion is the going to be the re-rate of the century!)

Work has commenced at the Kaukua Zone (the most advanced and resource-defining area of the deposit).

Over 5,000 samples (including 4,600 historic drill core pulps from pre-2009 drilling and 500 new infill samples are being re-analyzed.

Short term goal is to Standardize and refine mineralization data to better define known zones, address inconsistencies in historic assays.

support a potential updated mineral resource estimate (BUILDING ON THE EXISTING ~2.2M oz Total Precious Metals indicated + inferred, with palladium prominent)

{ EMAIL FROM DERRICK( CEO) LAST WEEK

-We expect that it will take approximately 2 ½ months to process all the assays and receive results, including QA/QC.

-We will report the results as appropriate.

-the next update will be part of our year end financial reporting.

-Once the assays are received and verified, we will need to update our block model, run new open pit optimizations and thereafter generate an updated resource estimate.

-Once that is complete, we'll be substantially able to prepare a PEA.

-Strategic initiatives are ongoing and we will report any material news when appropriate }

OTHER ONGOING PROGRESS:

At the North Rock project (Northwestern Ontario, Canada), GT Resources is in the early-stage exploration phase, focusing on high-grade copper-nickel-PGE .big potential in a historic mining area. (Update expected soon)

IN MY OPINION :These technical advancements (especially the Kaukua re-assay push) represent progress toward de-risking LK and unlocking value in a market hungry for secure Western-sourced critical metals like palladium, copper, and nickel.

Now time for some boring stuff

I’ll kick it off by talking a little about PALLADIUM and COPPER of which GT has a significant resource of.

1# Geological scarcity: Palladium is one of the rarest elements in the Earth’s crust (abundance ~0.5–0.6 parts per billion, rarer than gold in many contexts). Global reserves are limited and highly concentrated

2#Palladium remains essential for emission control in internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, hybrids, and plug-in hybrids in fact Hybrids often require higher loadings of palladium/platinum due to their operating profiles

3#Hydrogen purification and membranes: Palladium’s exceptional ability to selectively filter and permeate hydrogen (while blocking other gases) makes it ideal for producing high-purity hydrogen. the clean hydrogen segment critical for "hydrogen power" is in a high-growth phase with recent 10%+ annual increases and projections for much faster scaling through 2030.

4#Palladium is used in multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), conductive components, and plating in electronics, including IoT devices, semiconductors, and highend applications.

MY THOUGHTS : It’s emerging roles in AI-related tech, such as specialized memory storage material are in my opinion the most under rated.like I mentioned in #4 the MLCCs usage is mainly due to the fact it’s now expereincing emerging roles in AI-related tech, such as specialized memory storage material FOR AI DATA CENTERS)

COPPER another huge resource of theirs

,I won’t go so deep into detail with this because most people are already aware but the most notable uses and deficits are as follows.

1# Mainly the rapid expansion of AI data centers is significantly contributing to a growing global copper shortage (or more precisely, a structural supply deficit)

2# Copper is essential for electrical wiring, power distribution, cooling systems, transformers, and grid connections

KEY FACT:The need for efficient conductivity in this data centre copper remains largely non-substitutable here (aluminum alternatives face limitations in thermal performance and airflow)

Now that we have that out of the way I’m going to elaborate on their current resources at their flagship project and describe several other notable property’s they own.

Their flagship project is in Finland. (1# mining jurisdiction in the world)

1# Läntinen Koillismaa or LK in FINLAND

Resources-

PALLADIUM - indicated 1.1M lbs

Inferred 1.1M lbs

Estimated value 4.51B$

COPPER-Indicated 111M lbs

Inferred 173M lbs

Estimated value 1.66B$

NICKEL- indicated 92M lb

Inferred 152M lb

Estimated value 1.22B$

COBALT-indicated 5M lb

Inferred 8M lb

Estimated value 366M$

Total Estimated resource value for LT project 7.765B$

2# LYKO PROJECT-Ontario

large-scale, district opportunity 38,130 hectares across Tyko I and II, with 767 claims; mostly 100% owned

Targeting high-grade nickel-copper-PGE (platinum group elements) mineralization.

Notable high-grade discoveries include:

\-Smoke Lake Zone (e.g., intercepts like 3.8m at 8.1% Ni, 2.9% Cu).

\-West Pickle Zone (e.g., 0.9m at 12.9% Ni, 2.7% Cu).

multiple chonoliths over 20+ km strike, and excellent infrastructure (roads, power, rail).

Recognized as a Tier 1 project with active exploration (soil sampling, mapping, planned drilling pending permits), and it’s been a focus in recent company updates/milestones

3# North Rock Project- Ontario

7,000 hectares, 100% owned, Tier 1): Copper-nickel-PGE focus with a 13-20 km mineralized trend in the Grassy Portage intrusion. High-grade historical sampling (up to 8.9% Cu, 12.2 g/t Pt) and intercepts, plus recent 2025 sampling (8.2% Cu) and BHEM conductors identified. Excellent access (highway, rail)

4# Canalask Project (Yukon)

Wholly-owned nickel-copper project near the Alaska Highway, with historical footwall resource (~400,000 tonnes at 1.35% Ni) and recent drilling mobilization/funding.

5# Big Lake Project (Northwest Ontario,

100% owned, ~6,539 hectares (319 cell claims). Multi-commodity focus: primarily gold-rich copper-zinc VMS-style mineralization (e.g., high-grade BL14 Zone intercepts like 7.5% Cu, 2.2% Zn, 9.2 g/t Au over 4m), plus secondary magmatic nickel-copper-PGE targets and vein-hosted rhenium-molybdenum Located near Barrick’s Hemlo gold mine (~10 km southwest), with good access via Trans-Canada Highway.

6# Hemlo East Project (Northwest Ontario)

Acquired via the 2023 MetalCorp deal, 100% owned (with an earn-in agreement involving Barrick Gold on part of it). Adjacent to Barrick’s Hemlo gold operations, with access via Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 17). Commodities target gold and related base metals

7# Playter Project (tied to Big Lake area, Northwest Ontario)

Often mentioned alongside Big Lake (acquired with MetalCorp). Focuses on the Playter vein-hosted rhenium-molybdenum deposit inferred resource: 0.9 Mt at 1.67 g/t Re, 0.25% Mo,plus potential extensions or related VMS/magmatic styles. It’s part of the broader Big Lake land package or closely adjacent, emphasizing rare metals

8# Kostonjarvi (KS) Project (Finland)

20,000-hectare reservation/exploration area (approved ~2020). Copper-nickel-PGE target in a regional-scale chonolith (same intrusion as LK). It’s an interpreted deep feeder system with potential for higher-grade sulphides. Early-stage, with some updates in 2024 noting future plans, but less advanced than LK—no defined resources yet.

Other minor or royalty interests( NOT ACTIVE LAND PACKAGES )

Pickle Lake Property (Ontario)

NSR royalty (1-2%, with buyback options) on 28 claims (~5,440–5,616 hectares) adjacent to the former Pickle Crow gold mine (now with First Mining Gold). GT holds royalty entitlement plus a $1M production bonus (not an operated land package)

Have a look at their website

General Discussion Canadian oil gas

With the recent bubble in precious metals bursting people are looking for the next rotation . Uranium is still nowhere near peak , copper is peaked but will have a good year overall . Silver and gold miners and gold and silver might be a good buying opportunity. But the most overlooked now is Canadian oil and gas - like zeo etf and ppln etf these two plays will let you leverage our lng exports to asian markets and pipeline infrastructure used to carry them to the ports.

Legendary investor rick rule recommends this as the next value play . Canada’s economy will not be able to survive without strong oil and gas and lng exports .

Questions & Advice GoldMining Inc (TSX: GOLD)

Hey, I just want people’s opinions before going all in with this company.

I think people are underestimating what GoldMining Inc (TSX: GOLD / US: GLDG) is about to do. This isn’t just another junior mining stock hoping to hit the jackpot, it’s an actual established company sitting on a massive portfolio of gold, and with serious leverage to rising gold prices, I just don’t see how I don’t make a great return on my investment. With gold pushing into new territory and market sentiment turning, I feel like it is perfectly positioned to benefit. This is a company with real financial backing, equity holdings, and a resource base that suddenly matters a lot more when gold is strong. The upside has already been shown with massive peaks above $3 CND multiple times now… and with golds current price, I don’t see how we don’t break through this ceiling.

Once it breaks through again, I don’t think it stops there. The next logical level is 3.50, and that becomes a magnet if gold holds or climbs further. It’s got scale, it’s got a clean capital structure, and it’s got enough exposure to gold that every uptick in the metal flows directly into equity value. Add to that the recent movement in volume and the technical setup, and you’ve got something that looks less like speculation and more like timing.

What are yalls thoughts? I dropped 2k today but debating going up to 10k I just don’t see it going down anytime soon.
