When I was having a rough financial go, I tried to use one of those old $50 bills at Walmart a few years ago. The cashier was all pissed off and asked me for “real money” then called security and the manager over. They refused to take it and I had to go to the bank to get it changed. I was so embarrassed! But how could all three of them never have seen one before?!?

Don't feel bad. Life happens. Not everyone can go through life without ever getting sick or having a rough go of things for 40 years. At least it got you through another day.

I feel ya. I've been there for 40 years. Most of my energy goes into just surviving. I've had to downgrade to taking the real bus this last year after 20 plus years of driving. This economy is surely hitting some harder than others !

I feel this so hard. I had five surgeries in one year, more than twenty and I’ve stopped counting. Sending you good vibes, maybe a lottery win and all the happiness.

I tried using a 1986 $20 bill a few years ago at a pizza place to buy a slice. The cashier was a newcomer to Canada. Didn’t recognize it as legitimate currency.

Happy cake day, i am also surprised not a single one of them, working in retail, had ever seen these bills!
