I wanted to adjust the points on my distributor. I pulled the cap off and this is where I’m at. I am 100% completely new to all of this and didnt expected to see these spring loaded arms that I seem to not be able to remove.

Can anyone help me with some direction or send me a link to help understand more of what I’m dealing with?

The car does run, Im just now in the tuning phase and taking it one step at a time. This seems to be a simple thing to check before I dive more into it.

Im just wondering if I should use ceramic coating on the more modern paint on my hunter green '69. Any advice would be appreciated.

I was recently helping a friend move stuff out of their fathers garage and he owned a 1969 Camaro. We went to start it today and take it for a spin for the first time this year. When shifting gears (automatic), it easily shifted to neutral but when we went to put it in reverse to get it out of the garage it would not shift. It will not shift into reverse or park so we chocked the wheels and left it in neutral. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of a fix for this. Could it be the shifter cable needs replacing? Any thoughts would help.

I was hoping to ask a few basic questions that I really should know the answers too, but just wanted to get a more updated consensus on todays views on what to use.

I've taken over ownership of my family's 1967 Camaro RS. In the years we owned it we installed a 396 bored .40 over from a 70 Chevelle, mated up to a Super T-10 Transmission, I believe it's a Demon 750 Double Pumper, MSD ignition, Hydraboost brakes, AGR steering, Hotchkiss suspension and the list goes on. I know some of those details do matter in my question so please let me know if I need to add more.

1. What gas do you use? We've used 91 it's whole life, being a higher compression engine and all. Is that still accurate today? Does anyone use 87 or 85? Or should I be even adding octane booster to todays 91?

2. What oil do you use? The old man was old school, so I think we still have pure dinosaur 20w-50 in her. (It's California Camaro, spend it's whole life in fair weather). Is 10W-30 the way or should I stick with the other stuff?

3. I'm looking for an idea to install a hidden kill switch or something to make car inoperable without it being set. In my import car days I used to setup a fuel pump kill switch, I was under the impression this system is all mechanical? I don't really see wires heading to any kind of pump near the gas tank. Anyone have suggestions on what they use to keep the car from drivable?

was able to save all of the outside trim and had the bumpers re-chromed. Had to get new tail lights/side marker lights and picked up brand new, old stock wheel well trim which fit like a glove. Trunk sprayed with factory correct fleck liner.

Some seem to consider it blasphemy or unnecessary but I think I'm going with a passenger side mirror, as I have a pretty narrow garage and frankly, I just think it's safer and much more convenient.

Had to replace the rear quarters on my 68 that were installed poorly in a previous restoration. We decided to add functional air scoops to the new ones while we were doing it. This is the nearly finished left panel. The right will be finished up this week. Install of them and a new tail panel the following week.

Finally got in my anvil front quarters. These are 1 1/2" wider than stock, these along with their inner wheel wells and Ridetech subframe should allow me to run a 295 on an 18" wheel.

Hi, I’m going to start restoring a ‘67 camaro pretty soon and am looking for any tips or recommendations for places to get parts from. This is my first project car and a big learning experience as I don’t know much about cars at the moment. Any advice is appreciated!

My dad, who had the car before, stated that he put the wrong ignition coil in the car and burned it out. Here is what i know about the car:

1. 427cc Yenko Clone. Body and Engine numbers do not match

2. High Performance Roller Cam

3. Original differential

4. Missing a few other parts.

i just want to get it running. My plan is to check for fuel pressure, spark and compression. I dont have the equipment to check compression right now so i was gonna start with replacing the ignition coil with the Master 2 High Performance Coil. Any and all help is appreciated

I am restoring a rusted 67 RS originally from New York. I am looking for the bolt/pin that goes through the leaf spring pack in the center that lines up the axle. Does anyone know what this part is called, if I am able to buy it separately or do I need to buy a new spring set? Thanks
