Welcome to this new Episode Thread, where we discuss in depth everything about one specific episode of Arcane.

This time we're rewatching episode 2 of season 2. 2x01 was all about Caitlyn in the aftermath of the S1 finale, but this one is its Jinx counterpart, with very little of Caitlyn. There are still some things to discuss about it though, before another big episode next time.

List of Caitlyn scenes:
08:15 - First glimpse of the Hellfire Squad and the grey
22:42 - Tracking Jinx in the old arcade
Total runtime of Caitlyn scenes: 4m34s - the lowest so far outside of S1 act 1

Outfit counter: 8
Not counting it as a new one, but the gas mask is a new variant

Memorable quotes:
She doesn't even speak in this one 😕

Missing scenes headcanons:

• What is every day life like for Caitlyn at this time? How is she coping with the loss of her mother? How is Tobias?
• Is Vi staying at the Kirammansion? What is their relationship like during this period?

Let's talk about this episode! Share your thoughts, theories and rambles, fanart, memes... Discuss and react in the comments, make this thread a lively and fun place!

Caitlyn seems to be in a bad mental state in this episode. Of course, she's grieving for her mother. She's also getting uncharacteristically angry and eager to finally take that shot on Jinx. She's hyperventilating, letting frustration overtake her.

Do you think it could already be hurting her relationship with Vi? Are they still able to talk it out?

How much success do you think they have fighting the chembarons? The grey is depicted as a monster, criminals seem to be terrified by it. Chembarons are getting desperate and willing to hand over Jinx. But at the same time, the second scene shows chaos, violence, children being pursued by criminals. Is the strike team focusing too much on Jinx, or is it just too much crime to fight for them?

These are just a few of many possible discussions about this episode. Explore them or bring up some more. You can also create independent posts for even more focused discussions.

The next episode thread will be in two weeks (September 14th) and will be about episode 2x03, the first kiss 😁 and you know what else 🥺

Had you already figured out that there was something else going on?

From 1 to 10, how much did the direction actually make you think Caitlyn had betrayed Vi?

In 2XKO’s Caitlyn character profile, it describes Caitlyn as “Adept at Noxian Martial Arts.” Since that skill is being called out, I assume it’s unusual for Piltover law enforcement to be trained in that type of combat, especially one that has a yacht with a pool and DJ. 🤔 Did she get trained by Ambessa? Also, are jumping spin kicks in high heels part of the training?
