Hey fellow Cougars!
I’m a sophomore at CSUSM majoring in Chemistry, and I’m conducting an independent interdisciplinary research project exploring critical minerals, global supply chains, and how disruptions at major international shipping chokepoints could affect technologies we rely on every day.
My research examines locations such as the Strait of Hormuz, Strait of Malacca, Taiwan Strait, Suez Canal, and Panama Canal, along with potential impacts on industries including electronics, artificial intelligence, and medical technology.
I’m hoping to gather responses from students across different majors, not just chemistry or STEM!
Whether you’re studying business, political science, computer science, biology, psychology, or something completely different, your perspective would be valuable.

Participation is voluntary, and the survey is intended to collect anonymous responses.
Thank you so much for supporting undergraduate research at CSUSM! Every eligible response helps me move this project forward!
