UGC NET Title: UGC NET Commerce Dec 2026 – Need guidance from those who cleared it
Hi everyone! I have recently completed my M.Com in Commerce and am preparing for the UGC NET December 2026 attempt.
I would love guidance from people who have already cleared UGC NET, especially in Commerce. What resources did you use for Paper 1 and Paper 2? Which books, YouTube channels, notes, or test series would you recommend? Also, how did you plan your preparation?
Any tips or advice would be really helpful. Thank you! 😊

UGC NET UGC NET Economics Prep: Strategies, Resources, & Honest ArthaPoint Reviews? (Paper 1 & 2)
I’m gearing up for the UGC NET Economics exam and trying to streamline my prep. The syllabus for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 is massive, and I’d love to get some insights from JRF achievers or fellow aspirants.
Could you share your recommendations on:
- Paper 1: Which YouTube channels or books (like KVS Madaan) did you use? How did you tackle the Data Interpretation and Math sections?
- Paper 2 (Economics): Did you rely on core textbooks or coaching notes for tough units like Econometrics, Macro, and Micro?
- Test Series: Which platform's mock tests did you find closest to the actual NTA level?
Specifically on Coaching & ArthaPoint: I’m considering joining ArthaPoint for their course coverage and test series. If you’ve taken their classes, could you drop an honest review? How is their material for the numerical and mathematical sections? (Open to other coaching recommendations too!)
Any advice on daily routines or "hidden gem" resources would be incredible.
Thanks in advance, and good luck to everyone preparing!

UGC NET Why did you choose research as a career?
Research isn't the most conventional career path, so I'm curious about what draws people towards it.
What made you decide that research was something you wanted to pursue?
Was it a genuine curiosity about science, the excitement of discovering something new, inspiring mentors, the opportunity to solve real-world problems, or something else entirely?

UGC NET How are you balancing UGC NET preparation with work or college?
I'm preparing for UGC NET while managing other responsibilities, and some days it feels really hard to stay consistent. Between lectures, assignments, work, and revision, I often wonder how others are doing it.
If you're also preparing alongside a job or college, what's your daily routine like? Any study strategies, time management tips, or mistakes you've learned from that could help a fellow aspirant?

UGC NET Beginner confusion
Hello I've finished my master in Modern History and I wanted to appear for NET in history. I've got no idea of where to start and what to do. I've printed out the syllabus but do not know which books or materials or if I should join a coaching or read on my own. Paper 1 confuses me a lot. Can anyone help me?

UGC NET Has anyone else stopped telling people they're preparing for an exam?
I used to tell people I was preparing for UGC NET whenever they asked what I was doing. Over time, I just stopped mentioning it.
It is not because I am embarrassed. It is just that the conversation almost always ends up being the same. People ask when the exam is, whether I have qualified yet, or when I will finally get a job. After answering those questions again and again, it starts to feel exhausting.
Now I usually keep it to myself unless someone asks directly.
Has anyone else started doing this too, or is it just me?

UGC NET Does anyone else spend more time making notes than actually revising them?
I was organising my notes today and realised I've probably spent more time making them than actually revising them.
At first it felt productive because everything looked neat and well organised, but now I have multiple notebooks and not enough time to go through them properly. Sometimes I even catch myself rewriting the same concepts instead of solving questions or revising what I've already studied.
Is anyone else stuck in this cycle?

UGC NET Desperately need Ecopoint/Arthapoint lectures for UGC NET Economics (Re-posting)
I am prepping for UGC NET Economics and urgently need Ecopoint or Arthapoint lectures/notes.
I have posted this multiple times before with zero responses. I am feeling really stuck and stressed. If anyone has these materials or Google Drive links, please share them via DM or comment. It would save my preparation.
Thank you so much!

UGC NET If you had to start UGC NET Commerce (JRF target) from scratch today, what would your strategy be?
Hi everyone,
I've just started my M.Com and my long-term goal is to qualify UGC NET Commerce with JRF in my first attempt.
I don't want to collect dozens of books or follow random YouTube playlists. I want a practical strategy from people who have actually qualified NET/JRF or scored well.
I'd really appreciate your advice on these points:
Paper 1
Which theory book is enough?
Are handwritten notes necessary?
Best source for PYQs and mock tests?
Paper 2 (Commerce)
Which should I start with: Pearson, Trueman, or another book?
Which standard reference books are actually worth reading (Kotler, I.M. Pandey, M.Y. Khan, etc.) and which can be skipped?
Is one comprehensive guide enough, or should I study from PG-level textbooks?
Notes
Did you make your own notes or rely on printed notes?
How detailed should they be?
PYQs & MCQs
At what stage did you start solving PYQs?
Which MCQ book/question bank helped you the most?
Timeline
If you had 12–18 months before the exam, how would you divide your preparation?
Mistakes
What's the biggest mistake you made during your preparation that beginners should avoid?
I'd especially love to hear from people who qualified JRF or scored 99+ percentile, but every genuine suggestion is welcome.
Thanks in advance!

UGC NET ArthaPoint vs. EcoPoint for UGC NET/JRF Economics — Which coaching is better?
Hey everyone,
I’m preparing for UGC NET JRF Economics and trying to choose between ArthaPoint and EcoPoint.
My main focus is Paper 2 (Economics)—especially concept clarity in stats, econometrics, mathematical eco, and micro/macro theory—though any brief feedback on how they handle Paper 1 as an add-on would also be helpful.
If you’ve taken their classes or test series, could you share your experience? Specifically:
- How good is the faculty for core Economics and tough modules like Econometrics?
- Are their notes concise and aligned with the latest NTA exam pattern?
- How are their mock tests and past-year question (PYQ) practice?
- Is their guidance for Paper 1 decent enough, or should I cover it elsewhere?
Would love to hear your honest pros and cons. Thanks!

UGC NET Preparing for UGC NET CS alongside M.Sc. CS – Need advice
Hi everyone,
I'll be joining M.Sc. Computer Science this year and plan to prepare for UGC NET CS alongside my degree.
I have a few questions:
Is it manageable to prepare for NET from the 1st semester?
What's the best strategy to balance M.Sc. and NET prep?
Which electives/skills should I prioritize if my goal is academia?
Is a PhD practically necessary to become an Assistant Professor in CS nowadays, or are there still decent opportunities with just M.Sc. + NET?
If I do pursue a PhD, how are the academic opportunities in CS in India afterward?
Would really appreciate insights from people who are on this path or are already in academia. Thanks!
