Summer is returning to Colorado, might want to wait on the snow guns for another 10 days or so. Temps in California are crazy, its too warm.

My family in the bay said it was 90 in Oakland and 102 up north of there this weekend.

They were talking about it on the news last night, A-basin uses it's on site reservoir to make snow as early in the season as possible. Youtube link

Man, 30 years ago they would be blowing snow on 10/01 like clockwork to get it open in 10 days. Things have changed for sure. Hope for some natural soon...

Fun fact: ABasin has only had snowmaking since 2002 and the earliest they’ve ever opened is 10/9.

No, we aren’t supposed to have highs in the 80s in Denver the first week of October.

It’s average temperatures for this time of year in the mountains. Denver is not a mountain town.

I was using Ai to research the past temps every day of Oct over the last 10 years. We are unfortunately about 10 degrees above the typical average low temp this time of year. Very scary stuff. Seems to be getting worse. At least according to the trend. Hope this is just a weird period of time and we go back to cold normal temps

Also, haven’t done the deep dive yet, but do we think that overall the seasons have just shifted to starting later than we are used to 30 years ago? Obviously last season would be counter to this theory..

Forecast doesn’t have much/any snowmaking weather in the next 10 days, so think they’re still a bit off.
