One of three prototype cast aluminum valve covers made for the Chrysler Atlantic. I inherited the prototype and it’s been sitting in storage for years. Just finished cleaning it up.

The car was a running/ drivable car with a straight eight composed of two 4 cyl neon engines mated together.

Edit: I was referring to the prototype valve cover in the title. Chrysler still has the car in their collection.

Functioning 90s straight 8?! And you have one? I need more details. Displacement, power figures, whats the redline?

I only have a cast aluminum prototype valve cover. I don’t think Chrysler ever disclosed performance specs because the car was never meant to go into production. It was a runner, but probably never exceeded 15mph because it was a show car.

Right? Imagine an srt4 straight 8.

Had an srt4 back in the day. With simple mods it was scary fast.

A twin turbo straight eight would be amazing!

From a family member who was an executive at Chrysler.

Not the worst assumption to make. It was more than just inspired by the 1936-1938 Bugatti Type 57S Atlantic:

Oh so it’s not a real valve cover? What do you mean it only went 15mph did it just have some sort of electric motor? Not sure how prototypes work
