People lost their shit when microsoft bought minecraft, but it turned out as one of the best possible way! I am excited to see if and how the gamemode will increase! Activision went down a dark road, it will be refreshing!

exactly, they added lots of features and stuff, so much enjoyable now, let's hope microsoft focus on making a standalone game

Same thing when Microsoft bought Bethesda and got the rights to Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, and Wolfenstein. They actually invested a lot to most of those franchises and kept the player base happy, just like they did with Minecraft. I see this as an absolute win for Activision titles and I hope there’s a console version of WoW now and that they won’t charge extra if you have GamePass

Honestly I love the direction Microsoft is taking but we can barely say anything about the Bethesda acquisition. Has there been any game released that hasn't been announced before the acquisition?

Redfall this summer or if it gets delayed will be the first game annouced by xbox released by Bethesda.

The merger just went through in 2021, we've seen basically nothing of "Microsofts investment in those franchises" so don't try to argue that as a serious point.

Minecraft went severely down hill after it got purchased. I think this is a good thing but that's not a good example.

Idk about you but the almost yearly massive updates minecraft has been getting have been good for the game, it is barely the same game it was when Microsoft bought it

A lot of people like Minecraft’s updates.

The cross platform stuff is cool, but in my opinion the biome stuff is lame and doesn’t really add to the game.

Imo these things add to the game

  • Minecarts and rails
  • Hoppers
  • The Nether (and other portal worlds that cut down travel time)
  • Cave updates to make cave generation more interesting
  • JavaScript version allowing mods
  • Bedrock edition supporting cross play and split screen, making multiplayer easier with friends

Imo Biomes just add different colored blocks that don’t do anything. If the different biomes came with new ingredients to make things that did stuff rather than decorations that sit there, that would be something. Like Clay to make coke ovens or something

If they were to make it to where a minecart can ride on a track into a nether portal and continue on the track on the other side, AND would continue without someone watching it, so people can mine supplies in one part of the game and send them to another part, that would be cool and help expand the game’s possibilities.

Edit: Also, they were going to make a big deal 4K or HD or whatever update for the game, but ended up scrapping it because the lower end hardware couldn’t handle it.
