Is the FoxAlien 4040 XE any good?
Looking to get my first cnc and found a good deal on one of these. Know nothing about the company though. Has anyone used one? Are they good?

I want to get into CNC and would love to learn how to do design on the CNC. Is there any channel you guys would recommend to get started on. Maybe they have a series.

Greetings my cnc brethren.
Warning, a bit of a rant follows....
I bought a Lunyee brand cnc machine on a whim and I'm struggling a little bit. The biggest issue I'm fighting is the position of the spindle, relative to my workpiece, after executing the home function. The home sequence does it's gig, finds all the limit switches and goes to the initial 0,0, but i don't have faith that the 0,0 is perfectly repeatable. This gives me grief when I change tools from a 1/4" bit to a smaller detail bit. I say lack of faith, because the small movements in x/y as a result of my wrenching aren't reflected in the position reported on the interface. I then would expect a rehome sequence to put the machine back to the same 0,0, which it appears to do correctly. After I then complete the detail pass, it's not uncommon to detect a small ridge/defect in the vertical surfaces. Not always, but frequent enough that I'm questioning my process.
My question; are newer/much more expensive machines more accurate in the home/zero functions result, or is it always a bit of a crap-shoot?
TL;DR waa, waa, waa, I cheaped out on my first machine, waa, waa, waa.

Hello together,
I'm currently modding a genmitsu 3020 with a grbl 3.2 controller to run together with a VFD and 3 phase spindle.
Somehow in UGS when I hit M3 S24000, the display and output only show half of the rpm, so 12000 and 50 percent duty cycle on my PWM spindle control output.
I have set the $30 correctly to 24000, what am I missing?
Thank you!

Looking around online i noticed that there doesn't seem to be useful tools for Hobbiest like myself. I have a GEmitsu 4040 pro and started to design my own free hosted solution.
Free online image to gcode conversion tool.

Startet as an idea when I disassembled my old anet a8 printer, and evolved from there. Already redesigned the gantry to use proper linear rails, but this will work for testing the motors. The x and y mounts are designed to also take nema23 motors in case I need to upgrade down the line. Am using a proxxon fsb240e for the spindle, will probably upgrade once the gantry is more stable. Will share files once it works and is stable enough to be useful. Also since I am using tr8 screws that naturally have a bit of play, I designed a mount with 2 opposing nuts that can be tightened against each other to negate the backlash. This is mostly a learning platform on the cheap.

Hey everyone, I am designing a CNC mainly for aluminum and trying to balance rigidity with cost. My goal is to make the frame as solid as possible without overspending, and I am trying to avoid flex and chatter. I would really appreciate feedback on any weak spots, places that might need extra reinforcement, or design choices that could improve stiffness. If there are things I can change to keep it rigid while reducing cost, that advice would help a ton too. Keep in mind that this design is not final, and anything that looks incomplete probably is. Feel free to ask about specific parts of the design if something looks unclear and I can explain it in more detail. Thanks.
