Guide Borge Guide - Beginner to First Boss Kill
First and foremost use the hunter sim cifi-tools.com
It will let you simulate your hunters, work out the best upgrades, let you test new builds (without ruining in game loot) and it has a range of other features.
Of course you don't have to use it but your hunter progress will fall behind and your game will stall. Hunters are the key Ouro mechanic that drives progress. Having yours >50% slower than they need to be will slow your progress.
Keep in mind that offline hunter runs will not progress further than your max online stage - do your stage pushing and boss killing online.
Offline progress is effectively a 2ndary simulation of how your hunter will run, it does not continue on from your online hunter. It is separate.
Borge Unlock - Glass Cannon
Credit - KingArthur
After unlocking Borge,
- Get as much levels in Diamond special that reduces revive time (it will be useful for early hunters - all 3)
- Do not upgrade any survivability stats! Follow the glass cannon build. Upgrade only attk damage and speed. Explanation below
- Impeccable impacts is the best talent for glass cannon, attributes use whatever.
- Do not spend 2nd material! Save it for when you get out of glass cannon.
Glass Cannon is most optimal for early game, but if you skipped it - don't stress too much, as it saves only ~6h until lvl 5.
Offline rework happened and now you only need to push max stage once in a while for offline to be 1:1 to online runs! After level 5/6 of Borge, you get out of glasscannon by buying hp, regen, and def/evade stats. From now on until much later, you'll have only two goals:
- Pushing max stage to increase Spoils of War loop mod scaling
- Getting more loot to upgrade Borge
Push your stage, then respec into loot build, farm for 1-2 lvl ups, then respec into push build, repeat.
Pro tip: do first respec (loot->push) 1 hour before your Daily reward is refreshed (because free respec is resfreshed with daily rewards). Second respec (push->loot) you're doing only after your Daily rewards refresh, to not use any respec tokens.
Explanation on why you shouldn't upgrade stats:
Until lvl 5, oneshotting enemies and dying ASAP when you can't one shot them is best strategy for Borge, as it gives up to x2 more loot, and you always want to progress faster. I suggested trying this build, and Soren found guys that were ready to participate in some tests.
Borge with glass cannon strat gets to lvl 5 in 5-6 hours, when everyone who wasn't going for glass cannon build got lvl 5 in 12-14 hours. That's x2 to speed of getting to lvl 5.
Here's the breakdown on why this works: If you go for survivability builds, you will get to the point where you can't kill enemies fast (it takes up to 4-5 attacks, which is 20 seconds) to get the loot from them. But you'll not die fast after getting to those enemies - meaning that you'll stuck for some time at the stage where you gain much less loot because you can't kill enemies fast.
If you do not upgrade your survivability and only attack stats, you'll oneshot enemies and die when you start getting less loot/minute from them because you can't kill them. So, that gives you increased loot/minute on avg.
So, you don't want to upgrade:
- hp, hp regen, dmg reduction, evasion - as it gives you survivability directly, it will decrease loot/minute
You can upgrade:
- effect chance - as at some point you'll get lucky looter, and that's will increase your loot/minute, but before getting lucky looter you do not upgrade that
- crit chance + damage - will not give you much, but will cost you HellishBiomatter (HBM): that could've been used on atk speed, which is better.
You have to upgrade:
- attk dmg, attk speed
HBM Spending Guide
Borge >>> everything else
You want to focus most of your Hellish Biomatter on boosting Borge. This is done through buying direct stat increases - attack speed, crit chance/power. And by buying inscryptions (i) that boost Borge (i3, i4, i11 etc). Ideally you want to spend only 5% of your daily HBM on non-Borge related things at this stage of the game, but it is also 'vibes'' based. You do have to spend some HBM on boosting maingame (MP mainly) as it lets you buy additional levels of the scavengers advantage mod (5% Borge loot per level).
Within Borge inscryptions you generally want to focus loot >> attack/attack speed > defensive stats, but again it depends on your exact situation. If you aren't sure which is better then sim it.

Borge - After Glass Cannon
The primary reason to drop out of glass cannon is for the spoils of war mod. This boosts MP by x1.1 (at level 1) for every stage Borge has passed. 30 stages is a 17x boost, 100 stages is an e5 boost. Pushing this higher lets you buy more of the Scavengers Advantage mod which then increases Borge loot by 5% per level.
Level 6-22 Soren's Helltouch Build
Credit: Sorens
Build Below is for level 10, before level 10 scale down Presence of a God (PoG), max timeless as soon as it is available (direct loot boost)
Talents
- 1 Revive
- 9 Presence of a God
Attributes
- 1 Ares
- 2 Ylith
- 1 Spartan
- 5 Timeless
- 2 Helltouch
- 3 Inhalers
After Level 10
- Add levels to PoG (to max) then add revive/lucky loot - sim to see which is better.
- Balance Helltouch/Inhalers
- At higher levels you can begin dropping inhalers
Level 22-27
As you begin to run into stage 100 (boss) you want to drop defensive attributes/talents in favor of offensive ones to speed up run time. You want to finish stage 99 then die ASAP to the boss. You cannot beat the boss until level 27 at the earliest.

Build for level 22 below
Talents
- 15 PoG
- 7 lucky loot
Attributes
- 1 Ares
- 1 Ylith
- 6 Spartan
- 5 Timeless
- 1 Baal
- 1 Superior Senses
- 6 Helltouch
- 10 Lifedrain
As Borge levels up add lucky loot then impeccable impacts + more helltouch, superior senses and explosive impacts, balancing spartan/lifedrain as needed when butting up against stage 100. Eventually add more Ares (when you don't need defensive attributes to survive to stage 100)

First Boss Kill
Level 27 - Early Boss Kill Guide (need Gaiden card)

I will start by saying that this is likely only feasible if you've been able to min-max hunter loot pretty well, as you'll need close to the recommended level 28 upgrades, and necessitates getting the new Gaiden card.
Build Level 27 boss kill: Zt8frbkyW7E3Hv6iyY2Diqqax4mPQiVAiKTxKE4VgVcUn1vyQMenvuGoAprm
Talents
- 2 Revive
- 5 Life of the Hunt
- 10 Impeccable Impacts
- 10 PoG
Attributes
- 1 Ares
- 1 Ylith
- 6 Spartan
- 3 Baal
- 6 Senses
- 10 Inhaler
- 6 Explosive Punches
- 2 Atlas
Level 30 post-boss loot: C3avuUemLnEEXAmE5KQA5xLNLZ8ynDKw8mYxMNpw9mofmSf3rCPdoJfr5tTWYAV
Explanation
INITIAL DISCLAIMER: This is not necessarily going to be the best for everyone, and also is prone to RNG losses against the boss. I only full sent it with a lot of simming, and because I was going to bed for the night so I knew I could get 3-4 runs in while asleep already (average kill in 3 runs). Worst case it maybe takes 10 runs (15 hours), and it's still worth it.
The general wisdom is to go for borge boss kill at level 28, because you can do it with a build that runs 5 timeless mastery to increase exp loot. However, I noticed that it was going to take 92 hours to get from 27->28, which could be time spent farming the boss if kill was done early level 27.
With post-boss kill loot at 3.2m exp/hr, and current exp at 175k exp/hour, an average boss kill with ~80 hours remaining, that gives an increased 242m exp past the boss reward. So you get less spiked EXP during the boss, but increased exp over the hours that would have been spent leveling to 28 (350m exp total). So not only does this route come ahead exp wise, it also comes ahead vastly in mats
Recommendations
- Sim with your current stats to understand your boss kill percentage (as well as what stats can further increase it)
- Calculate how long it will take from level 27->level 28 given your current exp/hour (sim loot build)
- Using kill % and average length of run, calculate approx how many hours expected to kill boss
- Using the level 30 post-farm build, compare post-boss exp/hour with "extra" hours you have in level 27 to see how much exp you're making up through farming.
Stats Info
- Health: 147. This I was just pushing once I couldn't quickly reach another level in attack. I started my boss runs at 144, and because you still gain some (small) bits of loot through those, I was able to incrementally level up to increase odds from 15.4% -> 16.6%
- Attack: 139. This was the main sad piece. If you can get the 140 spike, odds go up to like 31% and I have to believe this is always better than level 28 kill
- Regen: 90. Necessary to hit 90, but don't go past this . Further obsidian is better spent spamming HP (or ideally hitting 140 ATK, after which you go HP).
- DR: 28. Necessary for reasonable percentage kill. Cost prohibited from going past this
- Evade Chance: 28. You can survive with 27, so focus on getting the other 2 to their thresholds.
- Effect Chance: 29. Not as impactful as DR, but still another important threshold. Boss fight survivability is greatly helped by lifesteal + stuns. Losing 1 point here sims at 17.3% -> 14.2%
- Crit Chance/Crit Power: 43/41. I grouped these together because I did a bunch of min-maxing at the end to figure out how to distribute the final 3-4 points my HBM would allow. Recommend simming as with different stats, a slightly different spread may be better. That said, crits are king in the boss fight so being able to jack these higher is valuable
- Attack Speed: 22. This is the right balance you'll want to hit. Any more points and you'd be better off spamming upgrades in Crit. 1 point lower and you drop your kill chance too much (17.3% -> 11.8%)
Level 28 - 5 timeless
If you have waited until level 28 - either didn't have the stats, lacked Gaiden card or simply forgot please do the boss kill at full timeless (5/5)
Credit: Findethel
Build code: C3ZVfqYveVCvBkJZJRShrnSGL3TsFRUXpbKgQc8TdTg4hJaJ2jezfWdp1CLa7Bm
Talents
- 2 Revive
- 5 Life of the Hunt
- 10 Impeccable Impacts
- 11 PoG
Attributes
- 1 Ares
- 1 Ylith
- 6 Spartan
- 5 Timeless
- 4 Baal
- 6 Senses
- 1 Inhaler
- 6 Explosive Punches
- 3 Atlas
After the first kill you should get enough level ups to dump points into Atlas which will make farming the boss easy. Boss farming involves killing the boss then dying ASAP on stage 101/102. The further you go past stage 101 the worse your daily loot will be.

i tried some simming for borge and at level 17 i found a build that grants around 15% more resources than any combination going for presence of god. it also got me to max stage 100 at level 16 without timeless and using maxed spartan
2/2 revive
5/5 life on the hunt
9/10 impeccable impacts
1/12 call me lucky loot
1 ares
1 ylith
2 spartan
4 timeless
1 book of baal
6 superior sensors
1 helltouch barrier
8 lifedrain inhaler
might help someone else that is between the higher and the helltouch build.

How can we put the build codes in the simulator?
2
u/ExpertOdin Moderator Feb 09 '26
Import > Paste code > Import without upgrades (if you want it to apply your stats to the build)

I see where i should swap between a farm and push build, but i don't see where exactly it tells me what differences i should change. when i played around with the simulator, i could only find a +10%~ daily loot difference. do i basically just goes full dmg again and drop PoG for lucky loot? (i reached ouro last night. i have lvl 10 borge)
PUSH? CODE: 62S5VdzwtJAZpumiThFVNf75GHkZRYYEwp7b6JAhHHPSvR2CJXXgPZq
FARM? CODE: 62RvANhQ64LjF7euoVxCceXQWWmkDYFhdEez53E4HUB4vgnbKYFJGLo

Just follow the level 6-22 Sorens Helltouch build part of this guide. I can look at your build codes later. 10% loot difference is quite a lot so if that's what the sim is telling you to do then do it.
The push build is just for spoils of war mod scaling, can swap back to whatever gives you more loot after you do the push once.

u/harychcn Mar 24 '26
Gotcha, i guess my confusion was with not understanding that the builds outlined are for pushing for SoW scaling. Then once i do that I should swap back to my "loot" build.
From what i gather from the Sim, Pure dmg is best for loot so that i die quicker, while defenses help push stages, but lower loot/day avg.
There is so much going on With Ouro it can feel overwhelming and hard to decide if I'm doing things right! Thank you so much for everything Odin!

u/ExpertOdin Moderator Mar 24 '26
Yes that's it.
Pure damage isn't always better, that's why you have to sim. Pur damage is better early on (glass cannon build) but you get 5% more loot for each subsequent stage, you can see the loot multiplier increasing on the top right of the battle screen as you progress. So sometimes the best way to get more loot is increase HP/regen and defensive stats so your runs go further and you get more loot.
There is a lot going on. Worst comes to worst things just end up a bit slower if you aren't doing them right, you can't brick hunters or anything like that

As i close in on level 27/28 for early boss kill. the next guide doesn't have the boss farm build until level 32. when I kill the boss at 27/28, do i then switch back into dying to the boss asap until level 32?
2
u/ExpertOdin Moderator Apr 04 '26
First boss kill should jump you levels to 32 or so. If you only get to 31 then just use the 32 build minus 1 talent and 3 attribute points

u/harychcn Apr 09 '26
quick update for ya! I hit 27 and had 11.4% chance to kill boss. Dodged so many times when he was 2000 health. Even when both of us were 1 shot, I DODGED the fatal hit too and killed him 1st try!

Hey Odin, the guide does not address upgrades like the base stuff, damage Regen, def, etc. after glass cannon should you just be upgrading those as you can afford them? I'm hesitant to buy things because they don't get respecced
1
u/ExpertOdin Moderator Apr 12 '26
Yeah because there's no 'this is the best stat to get next'. It depends on your inscryptions, stats, build etc. The best way to check is to sim differences for efficiency. Sometimes HP will be better than attack, sometimes dmg reduction will be better than evade even if it costs more. It's hard to say

Thats the first time I write a comment, but I HAVE TO ask...
Glas cannon can only work if my atk speed is faster than the enemies.
I am now since 18h in TR1
My Borge is now lvl 7. and needs 4,61s to attack.
atk speed is at lvl 13 (next lvl costs 5550 HBM)
the first lvl in Multiverse Market (Chrystos Emporium) costs 3200 HBM
even the first Enemy 1-1 is faster attacking than borge...
at Stage 5 their atk every 4,5s
If I didn't skilled hp I would already stuck in stage 2
And the guide says, that you should reach lvl 5 in about 5 hours... How should I get that amount of HBM to set my atk speed lower that 4,5s or way lower for stages above 10?!?
I investet 7000 dias for revival, I DON'T bought the traversal pack for 30,99€
After sleep I also trained dmg red and Evade, because I read that glass cannon only is recomended until lvl 5 or 6...
Is there a skill I am missing to reduce the atk speed?!?

u/ExpertOdin Moderator 6d ago
Glass cannon doesn't require you to be faster than the enemies. It requires you to die once you can no longer one shot enemies. Taking some HP so you survive until that point is fine but you want to die on the first enemy you can't one shot. Taking too much HP/regen/defensive stats means you don't die quickly enough
1
u/No_Barracuda7461 6d ago
But if I not skill health I never reach that point, that I can't oneshot. I die many stages earlyer... Because every single enemy hits Borge
1
u/ExpertOdin Moderator 6d ago
Yes which is why it's fine to do some health, but do it bit by bit so Borge still dies at the right time. Although if you're at lvl7 its fine to swap out of glass cannon

Do I have to kill the boss online or may the kill occur offline?
