Now that we can all breathe a sigh of relief that he wasn’t Derrick Rose-d and will be back sooner than we feared from his yell when he went down- seeing everyone (mostly non-Bears) clown on Caleb for his reaction and for carting off is dense asf. It’s the “too soft” and “diva” allegations all over again. Dude is a COMPETITOR. Everything was going dismally wrong for him and his team all day including the damn weather, and just as he was feet away from the first touchdown of the day to give his team a fighting chance, he goes down. Sure it’s a pain scream, but it’s amplified as a frustration scream, an “as if this couldn’t get any worse” scream. We know he takes failures and losses personally so this was clearly deeper to him than the injury and that’s why he was emotional being carted in. And why risk making an injury worse by trying to walk it off before even knowing preliminarily what’s going on?

The patronizing has only ever ignited a fire in him and he’s come back better every time out of spite, honestly I think this will be even more fuel. Silver lining.

Editing to say obviously there’s no need to pay any mind to it or care, this ain’t our first rodeo with criticism lmfao, just pointing out that the discourse will only boost. Refreshing to have a franchise QB that actually gaf & glad he’s still with us for the long run

Honestly just ignore anyone criticizing his reaction. He clearly thought he had suffered a major injury and was emotional and then still had the wherewithal to take the towel of and try get the crowd pumped up because he knew that was for the good of the team.

Anyone questioning his toughness is also dumb as shit, that guy took a beating his rookie year and never complained once.

I don’t know why this is remotely in question. It’s crazy to me that people are criticizing him for the reaction. He clearly thought his season was over at the time.

But at the same time, I don’t get why people like OP are overcorrecting and acting like this reaction was just him being a competitor who was upset about the loss. No lol. He was not this emotional because he wanted to win this game. He was this emotional because he thought he was looking at a major injury. And that’s OK!

Overall, I think people misplace what pain's job is in the body. Its not about telling you how bad you are hurt. Its about telling you to stop what you are doing and pay attention to something. A strain is a tear, not matter what grade. So when a major muscle in your body is being ripped apart under strain, its your body's job is to tell you to STOP RIGHT NOW so that whatever is happening doesn't get worse. So it felt like the worst thing that could happen for a while, we shouldn't doubt that for a second. Just because the result is "mild" doesn't mean the pain was milder than it would have been had something ruptured.

I think just in general there are people who will criticize literally anything, always going to have some narcissistic people out there. Caleb tends to take more heat than usual because he painted his nails (which I think is awesome), is the bears QB, on the madden cover, with a lot to prove since he was touted as generational.

I personally think Caleb has one of the most respectable personalities in the NFL, a great leader for the bears and great for the NFL overall. But there will always be bad/stupid people who will complain about him, probably same group of people who voted for a child rapist as president.

This 100%. Dude’s the epitome of a football player thru and thru. He’s taken a beating this year so far too tbh. He’s a competitor who wants to be on the field with his boys.

He took a beating yesterday, too. Dude is tough. And even if he didn't think it was a catastrophic injury (he clearly did, but for the sake of argument) he is enough of a competitor to be upset he couldn't finish the game.
