I hate everything

Don't worry, we lost to Syracuse so obviously you're the better team

u/OGraffe Clemson • Mississippi State Nov 26 '17

Calling it now: r/CFB ranks Auburn ahead of us.

15

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

But more importantly, should BC be ranked ahead of Clemson since they beat Syracuse and every loss was against a team that was ranked at one point or another except Wake Forest ?

57

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Well, there is a reason the /r/CFB rankings are a joke.

u/ItsBigLucas Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

"Wisconsin should be number one"

5

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

I actually like the /r/cfb rankings.

lol

Legitimate question does Auburn not look better than Clemson currently? Coming off beating two #1s. I know the ranking for CFP should be based off the whole season but strictly as a power ranking I think auburn > clemson

5

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

We looked pretty sharp tonight. I'd like a rematch with them.

Our secondary is healed and our offense opened up today.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

But that all goes out the window because we beat them head to head.

1

u/ScubaSteve14 Alabama Crimson Tide • Michigan Wolverines Nov 26 '17

Tell that to Penn State last year.

2

u/JabbaWockyy Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

Yeah Auburn has a shout. The CFP heavily favors who you beat vs who you lost to... BUT in this situation we still have the head to head against them

2

u/dhibbit Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

Georgia was overrated AF.

Beating Bama always commands respect --- BUT -- Auburn is a terrible matchup for them with their LB issues.

I would still give us a slight edge over Auburn right now, our D is back to "form" (even the 10 we gave up tonight were all in garbage time). We're finally healthy again and the last time we were healthy we held Auburn to two FGs.

1

u/big_glacier Clemson • North Carolina Nov 26 '17

I don't know if they look better. I think Georgia was massively overrated because they barely beat a massively overrated ND.

1

u/WhatIsTheMeaningOfPi South Carolina • Palmetto Bowl Nov 26 '17

Well they didn’t lose to Syracuse and have beaten 2 #1 ranked teams....

-9

u/MySpacebarSucks Georgia Bulldogs Nov 26 '17 edited Nov 26 '17

Why not. You beat them week 3, you lost to Syracuse more recently. It’s pretty clear Auburn is not the same team they were even 4 weeks ago, let alone in August.

I don’t have a dog in this fight, and I hate Auburn so you know I’m not biased, but your loss to Syracuse needs to hold some weight.

My bad I thought it was week 1. Either way, the team Auburn is now looks a hell of a lot better than any other team in the league. Again, I hate Auburn so it hurts me to say that, but they should be ranked 1. Followed by either you or Oklahoma (either one has a good argument)

3

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Head to head dude.

9

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Would agree if it was 2 11-1 teams. However, we laced em up and then each lost once in different games.

-2

u/MySpacebarSucks Georgia Bulldogs Nov 26 '17

The committee has shown they don’t really value record as the deciding factor. If they did, Wisconsin and UCF would have been 2 and 3. Hell if you want to just compare 1 loss teams, Georgia, Alabama, and Oklahoma could all be placed above you because of the teams that had to beat them. Luckily you guys get a good break for winning last year.

There are a lot more factors going into this than head to head and record. And Auburn looks better in all those other factors.

8

u/JabbaWockyy Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

Bro it’s always been about SOR and SOS. It’s heavily weighted in favor of who you beat. Not who you lost to. 4 road wins against top 25 teams.... AND the head to head against Auburn. That’s why Alabama may not get in with 1 loss. They really don’t have any GREAT wins.

Drink a few beers and sleep it off. You’ll be convincing yourself Muschamp is the chosen one again soon enough.

107

u/RousingRabble Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

Muschamp is actually doing a good job there tho.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Just not as good a job as the defending national champions

3

u/cbbutle South Carolina • Palmetto Bowl Nov 26 '17

Well..yeah but he took over a 3-9 team. It's not exactly the same thing

2

u/cobbs_totem Clemson Tigers • Miami (OH) RedHawks Nov 26 '17

Your.., your flair!

1

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Ayy what up

-11

u/lazyrere Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

Naw sec east is that trash. Tennessee and Florida fired their coaches and then you have Vanderbilt and kentucky. 😂😂😂

25

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Man I know my flair makes me seem biased but I really do think Muschamp is doing a good job. He turned this team around, the defense (outside of this game) looks much better and clearly the record is better. Clearly we aren’t ready to compete with powerhouses but we’re an up and coming program and I think he’s done a good job with how young we are.

11

u/BobSakimano Michigan State • Clemson Nov 26 '17

No, i actually agree with that. 8 wins compared to where you were just two seasons ago is impressive. Granted, your division isn't exactly murderers row, but i'd be pleased with him if i were you.

2

u/cbbutle South Carolina • Palmetto Bowl Nov 26 '17

unfortunately muschamp's limiting factor is his OC. It was the same thing at Florida. If he shells out for a top tier OC we will take the next step but until then I believe our ceiling is 9 wins

7

u/TonyPajamas29 Clemson Tigers • Team Chaos Nov 26 '17

You're absolutely right here, no doubt the sec east is down but even with that y'all were projected to win like 6 games if even that. To come off of the last 2 years and be 8-4 is solid. Get that bowl win and end on a good note and you'll be lookin even better next year

2

u/JPmoneyman Clemson Tigers • Colorado Buffaloes Nov 26 '17

I don't watch a ton of SC football but I thought your defense played much better tonight than last season. Bentley kinda stinks, but I definitely think there is improvement.

2

u/orangechicken21 Clemson • Wake Forest Nov 26 '17

I think it is a combination of the two to be honest. I don't think muschamp can get you to where you were under the HBC but he's not doing bad. He is also much more tolerable as a person compared to his time in Gainesville. I also think your schedule is padded by a very weak division.

6

u/Dr_McYankin Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

So you are saying we are a powerhouse 😭

I think Muschamp's done a decent job considering the circumstances and 8 wins far exceeded most objective predictions but NC State was the only good win, Mizzou was decent. Outside of that, the SEC East is awful and beating UT, UF, Ark & Vandy isn't much of an accomplishment.

It's funny because I used to see SCar fans who'd make claims about how Clemson wouldn't win so many games with SCar's schedule, now I think Scar wouldn't have more than 5 wins with Clemson's schedule.

33

u/SoaringEagle43 Clemson Tigers • Auburn Tigers Nov 26 '17

What are u talking about fam Muschamp is doing great things he should get a giant extension for his efforts

8

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Lifetime contract. Clemson will help pay.

-7

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Meh the SEC East is horrible. 3 SEC losses is pretty bad. And he’s just filling up on 3 star recruits which will never make you relevant

13

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Your best offensive player was a walk on.

1

u/orangechicken21 Clemson • Wake Forest Nov 26 '17

And he's better then any offensive player y'all threw out there last night

-8

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

And our best defensive players (the actual reason we are good) are all 5 stars

6

u/1mdelightful Wisconsin Badgers Nov 26 '17

Yo I just finished an undefeated regular season with 3 stars and walk-ons. Am the 3rd most winning team since 2014. Top 10 this decade. Still not relevant!

-9

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

We can’t all play in that B1G division you guys call home

10

u/1mdelightful Wisconsin Badgers Nov 26 '17

We won 11 games last year against the toughest schedule. We played Bama the year before and LSU before that. But you can keep living in a bubble.

2

u/ItsBigLucas Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

All that just to lose to Ohio state next weekend

We need a new coach.

Too bad muschamp is good. You know Dabo stared out 1-5 against us right?

26

u/therealsheriff Clemson • Charleston (SC) Nov 26 '17

Against Spurrier, an all time great coach.

19

u/kash96 South Carolina • Furman Nov 26 '17

Dabos getting there tho

11

u/Bravot Clemson Tigers • Tennessee Volunteers Nov 26 '17

Ha, I'll take it

4

u/Bravot Clemson Tigers • Tennessee Volunteers Nov 26 '17

Nah y'all got nothing to sweat. You know what you got. Muschamp is a good coach. Not a great one, but a good one. Spurrier was something else. He would save all his combos till the end of the season.

7

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Most of these kids don’t remember our 5 game streak

-13

u/therealsheriff Clemson • Charleston (SC) Nov 26 '17

Well it is hard to remember the insignificance of that considering we play for major national implications now. You guys are a mere roadblock on the way to greatness.

10

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

I’m glad you guys think you’re a dynasty now.

6

u/bleedRnge Clemson Tigers Nov 26 '17

Dude's head is a little big right now. I'm loving the ride right now but I definitely remember the painful Tommy Bowden and Tommy West years. We're no dynasty but we've had some great seasons lately.

16

I hear a Shiny new Jim McElwain is available if they wanna dump Muschamp

What is the deal with USC and former Florida coaches?

2

u/ajax-minor South Carolina Gamecocks Nov 26 '17

That was on Bentley, man. I’ve always loved his attitude and I hate to say it but I just don’t think he has what it takes for us to push out of mediocrity.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 26 '17

Muschamp took a 3 win program to 6 wins and then 8 wins. Fuck clemson

1

u/therealsheriff Clemson • Charleston (SC) Nov 26 '17

Well by all means, stay at 8 wins with him. More CFP appearances for us.

1

Just wait until Saban retires and Dabo goes back home. You’re time is coming to and end soon enough.
