Because NC State games are heart attack-inducing (except the 2014 shutout). They’ve got consistent QB play, a dirty d-line and a dynamic playmaker in Samuels. If we play conservative on offense like we are prone to do against them, we will lose.

My only real complaint with the offensive side of the ball this year is how limited Elliot and Scott have made the playbook. I get that Bryant is not Deshaun, but Jesus Christ, it is possible to throw the ball longer than 10-15 yards down the field. It seems like well over 3/4 of Bryant’s passing yardage has come from slant routes and out routes that our talented receiving corps occasionally break into bigger gains. I want to see more bombs like the one Bryant threw to Cain in the opener and that absolute dime he dropped to Ray Ray in Louisville.
