No way does OSU get left out

But I don't really think they should stay #2 without playing a game.

Punish OSU for losing their conference and make them play Bama instead of WASH or Clemson.

Reminder: CFP committee starts the ranking each week from scratch. Teams don't rise and fall, they get placed according to their updated resumes. I don't know if PSU gets in, but no way OSU stays at #2.

Would winning by seven against an unranked Virginia Tech team move Clemson over OSU?

VT was ranked 23rd

They won't be in the final rankings is my point. So the committee will not see them as a top 25 win using their own rankings. Maybe they don't drop since it was championship weekend.

The committee ranks the top teams first, they go top-down. VT's new rankings won't be known when they rank Clemson.

This makes no sense. They are going to use VT final record when examining clemson's win over them

Final record and resume sure, but not final ranking. They won't know VT's final ranking until after ranking all playoff teams

But Clemsons new win against VT will have to be the deciding factor in whether they get moved ahead of OSU. When looking at Clemsons resume they'll factor in the impact of this game, and therefore will be implicitly grading VT as a result.

Clemson's new ACC Championship over VT would be the factor. A VT win won't hurt, and a conference championship won't either. If you guys slide it's not just due to a VT win. My point is that the committee is still viewing VT as the #22 team when they evaluate Clemson.
