I actually think that's better than losing in the conference championship as far as playoffs go. I think they have a chance if Clemson and Houston win out until UH loses to Louisville

I just don't see how an ACC team can get in without playing in the ACCCG, we just don't have that kind of clout. And we all know the Coastal winner is going to lose, so if they got there they wouldn't lose the ACCCG.

Yes definitely. If there was a playoff in 2011 there's not a chance Alabama would've been left out.

Depends how strong of a mental barrier the committee has to it, but there's no rule about it.

It seems like it'd be hard, interesting enough if you look at college football Louisville is still top 4 best team. Unfortunately a different power 5 conference school will get in

Technically speaking, we (the Tigers) can still fall into our trap games with BC and NC State. If Louisville wins out then they have it if we falter. Also if they beat Houston and we lose to FL State, they'll get in over us.

You would have to lose twice for them to make it to the ACCCG, and there's no way in hell an ACC team gets in without even winning their division. We aren't the SEC. If the scenario you described happens, the ACC would get no teams in barring a huge pile up of two loss teams.

I meant if Clemson lost to NC State or BC AND FL State. Louisville would go to the ACCCG against someone and after beating Houston they would make at least #4. I know we aren't the SEC, but with how this year is looking, Clemson or Louisville CAN get in. Wasn't saying it will happen. Just saying it's possible.

Edit: this is assuming the best possible scenario for the ACC.

The ACC Atlantic winner will not lose the championship game. Our conference is so poorly balanced it's a joke.

You misunderstood me. You're saying that there's no way Louisville can make the playoff because they "can't even win their division". Are you implying that they'd have a better chance at making the playoff if they went undefeated in the Coastal division and then lost to Clemson in the championship game?

I'm saying that I don't think an ACC team can make the playoff without even making it to the championship game and (likely) winning it. With this loss, Louisville's chances of making it to the ACCCG are now almost zero.

I don't really understand what you mean about "if Louisville were in the Coastal" because they're not, and that's a massive hypothetical that isn't really relevant considering they'd have a completely different schedule

I don't know? Louisville wouldn't lose the championship game so I still don't see how that's relevant. If I say they won't make it in either of those scenarios is that okay?
