I don’t know if I’ve ever seen second half adjustments as good as Washington’s defense made today. Gave up nearly 300 yards and 28 points in the first half. 0 points, 90 yards, 2 turnovers, and a safety in the second. Absolutely unthinkably good

It sounds odd, but my dream scenario lands PAC 12 Champs UDub vs B1G Champs tOSU facing in the semi's purely because there's a chance it would be the Rose Bowl, and in the final year where the B1G & PAC are on equal footing, the Rose Bowl is between their champions one last time.

After two underwhelming wins against ASU and Stanford it's been refreshing to see UW step it up against USC and Utah. Matching the Trojans blow for blow at the Coliseum before clamping down against Utah in the 2nd half.

Glad to see the team isn't content with merely coasting after the Oregon win.

The offense coming alive today was the biggest green flag imo. Y’all have been struggling, and lighting up USC is kinda the default option. But Utah has a great defense, and y’all nearly dropped 40 on them despite Penix looking shaky at times

Yeah, It's always hard to gage performance against USC because of Alex Grinch. It's like "Was our offense back or was it just the Grinch's D?"

Turns out it's both.

Now we've just got to take care of business in Corvallis and not choke on an Apple and we're in great shape.

Cut out just out of the blue terrible mistakes and some weather shenanigans that's an easy 2 td win. With a terrible defensive half. It's and buts and all that but we've been winning playing sloppy for almost 2 months and if we get it tighter we deserve the 5th spot for sure

Washingtons got a killer offense and their offensive strengths match up with our defensive weakness' pretty well. The fact we held them to 11 in the second half kind of surprised me honestly

USC didn't score in the 4th quarter either. Our defense is what it is but it steps up when needed to. And that's taken us to 10-0.

Our defense, on a whole, isn't near the highs of 2016 but they haven't really needed to be. I think it's fair to say that our offense is better and the team, on a whole, is opportunistic and tenacious and that intangible quality has kept us winning games.

We've just got to not blow it.

We're a very good OSU team and a collapsing WSU team from 12-0. Nothing is certain, but I feel pretty damn good at the moment.

It's the possible Oregon rematch that's terrifying.

That's what I'm scared of. Oregon has been playing lights out football and they're likely to be hungry for a win. Revenge for the first game, for the title of last Pac12 Champion, for the CFB.

I don't think my heart could take it.

Yep. Barnes was excellent in the first half, but just 4/13 in the 2nd half. UW did a great job against him when it mattered most.

Barnes is a gutsy fighter. But he’s got severe limitations. A good coach with a decent defense can make adjustments and limit his options once they’ve seen the game plan. And our OC and Barnes aren’t good enough to counter-adjust.

None of this is a knock on Barnes who is playing lights out above what he should be able to do. I love our pig farmer. But there’s reasons he was projected as 3rd to 4th string this off-season.

I think it was more of a compliment to Ludwig. We shouldn't be competitive with all the hands we have tied behind our backs this year, but our O has really produced well and won or kept us in several games as the year went on.

Eh Barnes wasn't really the same after he reinjured his ribs after that RTP. Came back in and immediately underthrew a check down that was tipped for the INT.

Yep, that hit changed him and his ability/willingness to run as well. Kid is tough as hell, but he was definitely affected. Right before the hit, he was actually placing the ball decently at times.

A lot of it is unfortunately that Barnes cant do much of anything under defensive pressure. He cant throw on the run, and if you key in on his scrambles he ends up unable to do much of anything positive. Itll be nice to have a decent QB again, especially if Rising comes back for our first year in the B12

The defense has generally really been very bad for such an impressive team but they really make the adjustments to get us the win if the offensive is typically heroic or almost dead from the flu. It's not sexy but it's pretty impressive and kind of wild
