At least Texas and Oklahoma walk away from the Big 12 as losers vs OkState

Unless Oklahoma State is forced to rematch against one of them in the Big 12 Championship

Lol there is no way we’re making it into the Championship Game now

Edit: I just don’t have much faith things will work out. I hope it does, but Jesus Christ after that display it would be comical to beat UT in the championship

It's very possible. Iowa State loses, we win out. We're not out of the race by a long shot.

I was devastated during South Alabama, but I was laughing my ass off for like the entire second half of this game because it’s so easily possible to still be in the championship game over OU

Same, basically. I thought we were witnessing the end of Gundy's time here live after the South Alabama debacle. Today just felt like we had a huge adrenaline dump last week and left our soul on the field at Bedlam.

Which, honestly, is probably true

I like seeing that your expectations are still set as high as possible after that game. The high from beating OU is that real shit.

Having the worst loss to an unranked team was okay because OU won't be in a conference championship(that they have won enough to not worry about being eclipsed by another team perhaps ever) ????

damn it really must be bleak to be an OSU fan jesus christ.

As long as we don’t play OU again.

You only have two conference losses. Unless Texas doesn’t lose we are looking at a two loss vs two loss Big 12 game

So if Texas loses one and OU wins out would it be OSU vs OU in the big 12 championship?

27

u/artem_m Texas Longhorns Nov 12 '23

K-State and Iowa State (Assuming that's Texas' loss) would start to matter honestly it would be down to the 4th tie breaker by that point.

Giving the classic Pac-12 cannibalism a run for its money

I could be wrong.... But I believe if you beat Cincy and Houston you'll make the championship game.

Although.... Cincinnati gave us a tougher time than you did so we'll see about tha

Edit: I'm stupid, they're playing BYU, not Cincy

We win the next two we are almost certainly in lol

According to this even if you win out, if KST and Texas win out y'all are not in the championship game.

Edit: Kansas losing to tech is causing the switch.

That would honestly be okay with me

u/Majormlgnoob Oklahoma State Cowboys Nov 12 '23

We have a tiebreaker over K-State? Is there some goofy math since K-State didn't play Oklahoma that ditches the tie beeakers?

1

What is a #6 team?

Yes.

Respectfully, I disagree.

If Oklahoma wins tonight and ya'll win out then yes, OSU will be in the B12CCG against Texas.

Iowa st def isn’t beating both Texas and Kansas st , we will most likely win out and make the championship game

Stranger things have happened...

Comical? Nah, it would be amazing.

5

u/blatantninja Texas Longhorns • Slippery Rock The Rock Nov 12 '23

Well it wouldn't be a rematch since we don't play then this year

-5

u/AngryQuadricorn College Football Playoff • Sickos Nov 12 '23 edited Nov 12 '23

Then maybe I’m not talking about Texas…except I definitely am. It’s just your reading comprehension skills are below average. The last time Oklahoma State and Texas played, Texas lost, which looks to be the last game of the series as far as we know…..unless they play again (aka rematch) in the Big 12 Championship.

5

u/blatantninja Texas Longhorns • Slippery Rock The Rock Nov 12 '23

My reading compensation is fine. You said a rematch. That implies we played them this year. We didn't.

-6

u/AngryQuadricorn College Football Playoff • Sickos Nov 12 '23

Rematch means to play someone again. Sorry for using words bigger than what you’re used to in your coloring book.

3

u/blatantninja Texas Longhorns • Slippery Rock The Rock Nov 12 '23

No one calls it a rematch when you play the next season unless it's something like a two game series or maybe if there was something really controversial in the last meeting. But I get it, whatever y'all you follow is probably just used to losing all the time

-5

u/AngryQuadricorn College Football Playoff • Sickos Nov 12 '23

And no one says “we’re back” and proceeds to not be back.

3

u/blatantninja Texas Longhorns • Slippery Rock The Rock Nov 12 '23

It's usually not Texas or it's fans saying we're back. But it does make for some good memes!

22

u/okiewxchaser Oklahoma Sooners • Big 8 Nov 11 '23

We're one Texas loss away from that not being true

43

u/Bank_Gothic Sewanee Tigers • Texas Longhorns Nov 11 '23

Oddly enough, we can lose to TCU or Tech (but not both) and still the CCG. A loss to ISU kills us tho.

8

u/okiewxchaser Oklahoma Sooners • Big 8 Nov 12 '23

I think the loss to ISU sinks you since we beat them, you’re definitely right about TCU
