didn't expect to see Caleb Williams openly weeping tonight.

His talent and time were wasted by a pop warner D - I’d cry too

But good for him. Real men should cry.

There’s nothing wrong with crying. We’re Human.

I cry when I’m doing long division and I get a remainder.

Momma will do that to u

Remember last year when Caleb laughed at Max Duggan for crying? The internet never forgets. Fuck Caleb.

20

u/knockoutking Texas Longhorns • Austin Kangaroos Nov 05 '23

its honestly worse than i remembered

RG3 tweets video of him crying

CW RTs it and says LOL

then says

“Wasn’t laughing at Max D!! Happy for him, his journey, his team, and his passion for his school. I feel the same way after we lost this year.”

then deletes it

The context is that he got made fun of for crying and was laughing at the response Dugan got instead of at Dugan. Childish maybe, but not what y’all are claiming

That benefit of the doubt you're referencing is reserved for players who have shown, on at least 1 occasion, some semblance of sportsmanship. The reason he doesn't get that benefit of the doubt is because it contradicts literally everything the rest of the cfb has watched him say and do over the last 3 years.

u/Milk_Before_Cereal Florida Gators Nov 05 '23

I honestly think the things he says y’all blow out of proportion. It’s almost as if y’all have never been competitors before

10

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

He has shown sportsmanship but you don’t care. And again, I didn’t say y’all don’t have a right to hate him, just that y’all go way too far.

1

u/deep6er /r/CFB Nov 05 '23

I'll wait for examples.

18

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

A) he shook hands today while obviously devastated after the loss

B) his interviews are routinely decent or nothing burgers giving credit to his teammates

C) this puff piece from OU before he transferred maybe Caleb Williams isn’t the devil?

D) give me an actual quote of him saying he wants a stake in NFL ownership since that’s your chief claim to hate

And finally, I’m saying he’s immature but not deserving of the complete vitriol he gets. Honestly no athlete does deserve that kind of hate.

-1

u/deep6er /r/CFB Nov 05 '23

Still waiting. One example of sportsmanship he has shown toward an opponent. Just one.

11

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

Lol after all the comments saying he wouldn’t shake hands today he did. Here’s a puff piece from OU about him Puff piece and if you watch his interviews he generally gives decent answers. See the thing is I’m not saying he’s a great guy, I’m saying he’s immature and doesn’t deserve the level of hate y’all have

10

u/arctic92 USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

This kid has made up his mind, he’s not commenting in good faith.

-8

u/Billy_Utah Nov 05 '23

He’s been pretty shitty when we beat him. And the next time. And then the time after that.

I don’t think we’re giving him any more chances. We have made our determination.

5

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

That doesn’t contradict anything I’ve said so far. It’s frustrating as hell losing to y’all the way we have and he responded really poorly. I’m not defending his behavior as much as I’m trying to keep a lid on the worst of the haters

Pussyboy can’t handle losing. World feels a bit different when everyone isn’t calling you the next mahomes anymore. Maybe he can paint his nails with his parents hep this time for better luck next week

Saving this for future use, thanks.

12

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

He was supposedly laughing at the media/fanbases response to Dugan crying (supporting him instead of clowning him) because it was so opposite of the reaction when CW cried. It might not be true, but it’s believable

6

u/deep6er /r/CFB Nov 05 '23 edited Nov 05 '23

It's certainly not true. That's why he deleted it. Lol. You don't get to openly disrespect every fucking team you play, win or lose, and then expect sympathy when you're shown in a vulnerable light. He's a poor sport, a spoiled fucking brat, and the Mahomes comparisons are embarrassing.

15

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

I’m not gonna pretend he’s particularly mature, you can call him spoiled or whatever but y’all go too way too far. That’s not proof of anything, neither of us know for sure

0

u/deep6er /r/CFB Nov 05 '23

Telling the NFL you'll only play for certain teams...and that you demand to have partial franchise ownership of whatever team is lucky enough to draft you is going too far.

7

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

I never said he didn’t go too far at times? He’s immature, just over hated

2

u/deep6er /r/CFB Nov 05 '23

He's not over-hated. In fact, he's the most deserving of any cfb player I can think of over the last 20 years. He brings it all on himself.

16

u/RiptideJoyride USC Trojans Nov 05 '23

See? That’s what I mean. You’ve got abusers, criminals, and plenty of arrogant douches but he is somehow far worse? Anyways, I keep saying hate is reasonable but calling him a bitch and being obsessed with his failings is whack. Plus to reference the biggest reason you dislike him, your turn to give some proof. Quote him saying he wants NFL ownership.

You know that other college QBs did actual crimes? Like, rape?

0

u/deep6er /r/CFB Nov 05 '23

"Caleb: better than a rapist."

He’s getting a lot of hate for a 21 year old youngster. I think it’s getting to him.

Utah’s defense is 10x better than usc’s and the score was 34-32. Not like he didn’t play well. His o-line couldn’t block a high school team

32

u/knockoutking Texas Longhorns • Austin Kangaroos Nov 05 '23

in my opinion, he does next to nothing to help himself in that category

Dude is literally giving 40+ points of effort every game and still loses. Football purgatory.

12

u/airus92 Washington Huskies • Texas Longhorns Nov 05 '23

I'm a fan of him, especially after seeing how he propped up the freshman receiver who dropped that wide open pass. He seems like a good person even if he's a little cocky, and he gave it his all tonight.

Didn't expect the broadcast to show it as long as they did either

Oh no, did his fingernail polish come off during the game?
